  1. It might sound a little sad, but my GF and I are going to have a curry and watch some episodes of Buffy. Not had a lot of down-time recently. I'm looking forward to it.

    What about you?

  2. Mac

Whoa! You like all the authors I like! Excellent stuff! Check out my thread McRecommends and see if there're any others we share in common.

Hope you've had a good day.

  3. I am now, CW. Thank you. :friends0::friends0::friends0:

  4. The hangover is slain and I am feeling groovy. Last week I worked (including the voluntary stuff) 74 hours. So anything less than that this week is a bonus. It doesn't look half as crazy at the moment, anyway.

Good luck on Tuesday, dear friend. I shall pop on to ask how it went. And I hope Friday's move goes well. New apartment, Lady. Woo Hoo!

  5. Good morning to you. How're tricks? I am responding ridiculously late to your last message, but that's purely because I'm rubbish.

I did, in fact, have two weeks off over Christmas, but needed a holiday to get over that! I'm on half term in only three weeks time, so this is good. The lady in my avatar is the very beautiful Zooey Deschanel, an actress on whom I have a harmless little crush. Those eyes!

What're you up to? Fun stuff, one hopes. How's the job going? I imagine that you're well settled now and enjoying all things Western.

    Take care. Happy days.

  6. Good morning, Lady! 'Tis 10.11am and I am considering making a massive breakfast of greatness. I have my book, my mug of tea and my enormous hangover, so my Sunday only needs said breakfast to be complete.

How are you, my lovely friend? What plans have you for the week ahead?

  7. Mac

Greetings, Ben. How's all things sixth form going? Have you had new starters? How is this new year progressing? How are the studies? How many questions am I likely to ask? Will this be the last question? Or this one? Or this last one?

Ah. There we are, that was it.

When I began Sixth Form we had a whole bunch of newbies start - 5 girls, and all in my form! All five were gorgeous (and exotic, because they came from at least nine miles away!). I had a girlfriend from the age of 15 to 21 - Jo, still one of my closest friends - so never turned on the charm with them, but just because one's on a diet it doesn't mean one can't look at the menu, eh!

I've always thought that it's wonderful to appreciate fine art, as long as we don't take the paintings off the wall.

My, what am I talking about???

*sounds of Mac muttering to himself into his mug of tea.

  8. Good afternoon, Genevieve, my lovely friend. I always think that the '30's look was a great one. I wish that people would dress more smartly these days. I love well made suits, and ladies looking sophisticated and stylish. I'm sure you'll look amazing taking this path. My dear friend Andrea has quite the '30's style and always looks simply gorgeous.

How's January going? It's always so dark and gloomy, so whenever the sun shines I try and orchestrate event s so that I can get out into it!

    Thinking of you. xx

  9. I wasn't that mad keen on The Secret of Crickley Hall. He's written some absolute BELTERS, though, like Moon, The Dark, The Fog, Once... and Others.

I'd definitely give these a go. I think we share similar tastes, so am reasonably confident in recommending them to you.

My "me-day" turned very swiftly into an "others-day" as they so often do. My estranged father telephoned to inform me he no longer lived in Greece and had, in fact, returned to Britain and was living in Swadlincote (of all places!), so I ended up tootling down there to see him and his wife (number 4) - a strange evening, to be sure. I think since he's turned 65 he's become aware of his own mortality and wants to make more of an effort with his sons, which is fine with me. We all make mistakes we wish we could rectify, and I can be one of his.

  10. Mac

Fine. Have thine custard and be done with it. The less said, the better. :D

Hope you're well, pal. Enjoy your evening.

  11. Mac

Thanks for that, Janet. I've copied and pasted now. That'll make it easier when I think of summat else! :D

  12. Mac

Oooh, yes please, Janet! That's be brill.

(In relation to the question on the McRecommends thread) Thanks ever so much! x

  13. Mac

No no! The veracity of my previous greeting has been confirmed. By the President of the U.S. of AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Of course, this sentence may hold much that is apocryphal...

  14. Mac

Tip top, ta. I'm soon to pop out to pick up my girlfriend from work, then I'm rustling up some fine grub to eat alongside a cheeky Rioja I have lined up. Nice!

  15. Mac

Hey. Wanna be chums? Hope you're enjoying your weekend.

  16. Fine and dandy, thank you. Currently enjoying sitting on my sofa pootling around on my laptop, talking to you lovely lot.

  17. Hiya, Kelly! How're you doing?

  18. Afternoon, Scarlette. How're things going? I'm having a weekend of peace, food, beer and wine (on my own, which sounds a little sad, but occasionally I really need it). I won't get bladdered or anything, just leisurely take my time with all of the above.

Usually, I'd be out climbing right now, but my lovely climbing buddy, Katy, is away and I CBA to hook up with anyone else, so here I am having a lazy time of it! Wahey!

What're your plans? Lots of fun, I hope. Take good care, pal. :friends0:

  19. Hi Andrea. How's The Magic Cottage going? I think I might want to re-read it.

My weekend begins now, having just finished teaching for the day, so I'm putting my feet up before nipping out to pick my girlfriend up from work at 5. Then it's a day of sloth tomorrow, on my own, reading, watching a film or two, cooking something nice, you know the type of day!

How're things with you? All tickety-boo, I'm hoping. Cheers, now!

  20. Mac

Yo. Greetings to you, Beef, me old chum. That's all, really.

  21. I am about to make a couple of bacon butties, chuck some clothes on and get out teaching for the morning. Wish I could stay at home, really, 'cos I feel a bit tired - but the rest of the weekend's free. Woo Hoo!

*sounds of Mac running around his tiny house, clapping his hands like a loony...

  22. Mac

    Hiya! Just that, really...

    Hope you're very well. x

  23. Mac

Good morning! I am merely popping in to see how things are going with all the college gumph. Have you got your funding yet? Have they sorted out your grades? Do I need to fly over and get all rowdy with these silly people?

I hope you're alright, chum. Keep your chin up, you're a smashing person. :friends0:

  24. Hellooooo! Hope you're very well. x

  25. Mac

Ayup, fella. I read your piece on Social Networking Sites. I believe the expression is "lol" (as long as that doesn't actually mean "Lots of love", 'cos that'd be weird, me saying that to you, wouldn't it? I simply mean it made me laugh. A bit. Anyway. Hope you're well, me old chum.
