  1. Mine's on order at the library as well! It's says "On its way" but it's been like that all week and still no sign
  2. Heston's 80s Feast - this is bringing back memories!
  3. I read Labyrinth and Sepulchre on holidays in previous years, Sheeta - they make excellent holiday reads
  4. on holiday, OH walks, I read. That's it.
  5. Iced Gems (I feel 5 years old all over again )
  6. Well, we actually went away for a week earlier this year. I took twelve books with me, bought six more and read nine of them over the week. Luckily we usually stick to the UK for holidays and take the car, so a bag of books will always be slotted into the boot/back seat
  7. Helloooo! I enjoyed the Shopaholic series, but have to admit, I prefer her stand alone novels (Remember Me? is my favourite )
  8. Kalona lifted his hands. Burned by P.C. and Kristin Cast
  9. I think that's Ian Somerhalder who plays Damon in The Vampire Diaries television series.
  10. For the most part, I already know what sort of book I'm in the mood for, and have my two TBR shelves staring down at me all the time, and it's fairly easy to just pick a book to read. It's usually down to a choice of three or four possible candidates. Once I pick up the book, though, that's the one I read. I might occasionally read a book for one session, then when I come to pick it up again, find I'm not in the mood (once this year), or due to other commitments, have to start another instead when I'm part way through, but for the majority of times, once I start a book, I read it until I've finished (or I really can't bear to read anymore and it gets discarded - another very rare event)
  11. After more BCF "advice", I'm now hooked on the Anita Blake series and am trailing along behind Charm Finished The Laughing Corpse last night and have just reserved the next installment at the library. Couldn't resist starting Burned during my lunch break, and am 70 pages in already I don't think I'll be able to put it down this evening once I pick it up, so making sure I catch up with all the goings on here first!
  12. If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon is about a jewel thief. Not my usual sort of book, but I was an impressionable teenager (with a crush on Tom Berenger) when I saw it the miniseries and thought it was great fun, so read the book as well.
  13. Harold Gaynor's house sat in the middle of intense green lawn and the graceful sweep of trees. The Laughing Corpse by Laurell K. Hamilton
  14. Using an old theatre ticket at the moment
  15. Jacket potatoes with baked beans and cheese
  16. I'm an animator trying to find out who (or what) is behind a series of grizzly murders, whilst trying to avoid the new local master vampire and also the most powerful voodoo priestess in the area.
  17. I'm hopelessly addicted to the series too, and my faves are also Elena and Clay, although as the series goes on, Paige and Lucas are catching them up quickly
  18. It's definitely how it works in our area - I know because the book buyer for the region runs our book group, so she's explained it to me. Still, it usually doesn't bother me, just when there are books I'm desperate to read. It's just a case of weighing up whether buying a new hardback for an immediate read is worth it compared to a 90 pence reservation fee. I've bought Burned this weekend anyway, but for the others I've got reserved, I'm happy to wait. Sorry for hijacking your thread, Kelly
