  1. I find it addictive too. I have days when it's all I read and then I don't read any for weeks or months and then go back to it! Now I just read the updates I get in my inbox or on LJ on stories I started watching and keep getting updated but last week it was all about Harry Potter fanfiction
  2. I still haven't found mine... I've been reading the same book for about 3 weeks and it's a short book too!
  3. Hi!!! You definitely need to come back
  4. Yeah that's pretty much the concept of it. Some are very close to how the books go but some are totally different... characters are the same but the story line is almost nothing like the book, tv show etc.

They can be pretty enjoyable ;)

  5. I always read the prologue... it never occurred to me to skip it.
  6. Hey!

I mostly read Harry Potter fanfiction, but when I want to change I go through The O.C. phases, Queer as Folk (US) and a bit of House and Grey's Anatomy. I mostly just use

www dot fanfiction dot net (the reply thing won't let me insert links) as a site. It has everything one would want on it ;) Anyway it's mostly Harry Potter for me, there are some amazing authors on that site.

    And I'm Mona btw :)

  7. I've read a lot of fanfiction over the last years and I've found some really amazing stories.
  8. I'm due for a re-read of the Harry Potter books before the new movie comes out. Which one is your favorite?

    Hello :)

    Welcome to the forum!
  10. Oh no I'll probably sign up on this one too just to try it out. I did finally send an email to LT and they deleted my account because I wasn't using it. I just love trying sites like this. Still like Goodreads the most right now.
  11. I need to join the support group I lost my mojo about a month ago... I actually need to force myself to read! In order to finish a book once in a while, I am making myself read at least a chapter every day... it's horrible isn't it? I am forcing myself to read! Help!!! I've brought coffee for the group! May I have a cookie?
  12. Welcome to the forum!
  13. Life of Pi was really good Just finished reading it too! I've been putting off Les Miserables for years! Might be the size of the book that scares me
  14. It actually took me a bit to get into it mostly because I kept waiting for the part where Pi ends up in the lifeboat! But once I really sat down to read, I enjoyed it very much From what I've been reading in the threads here it seems like the opinions on it are quite divided.
  15. 1- Who was your favourite character and why? Having to choose between two main characters I choose Richard Parker. 2- Was there a particular part you enjoyed/disliked more than the rest? I definitely enjoyed the ending and it make me like the book 10 times more. The part that I disliked was the one with the island. 3- Was this the first book you've read in this genre/by this author, has it encouraged you to read more? Yes and yes. 4- Were there any parts/ideas you struggled with? The island and the Frenchman. Both seemed too unreal to me. 5- Overall, was reading the book an enjoyable experience? Most definitely!
  16. Life of Pi is a book I won't forget anytime soon! The ending was totally unexpected and it made the book even better, although all of a sudden way more serious and dark. I shouldn't have put the book off for so long, it was definitely a good read Starting Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman tonight.
  17. I finished this a couple of days ago and I'm still thinking about it! Absolutely loved it... and the ending was definitely not what I had expected.

  19. My Sister's Keeper was really good, I thought the idea of the book was very inspired. Started Life of Pi two nights ago, I like it so far.
  20. I finally got around to taking pics. The only way I keep my books organized is by separating the English books from the Romanian ones. My guinea pigs are mandatory in the photos as I am too lazy to crop the pics
  21. I still read them and enjoy them a lot
  22. It's a really rare case for me to read the introduction.
  23. Love it
  24. I'll keep that in mind, thank you!
