  1. I should be done in a couple of days, it's good so far I think I made a good random choice at the British Council library The only thing that confuses me at times is the use of tenses. I find it odd to have the story told in the past tense and then in the middle of it a description of a person in the present tense. I got stuck on that for 10 minutes last night while I was reading. I don't think I've seen that before. It's probably just me though, I'm horrible with text analyzing so I never know when these things are excellent in the written work.
  2. Kell, that link is awesome! I've only started Discworld and I've been curious to see exactly how the novels fit together.
  3. Ah... Harry Potter. I wonder if I'll ever get bored of re-reading this books! Glad you enjoyed the first one
  4. I read some pages of Affinity by Sarah Waters today, will probably continue to do so later. I also bought "Nobody's Boy" by Hector Malot. It was with today's newspaper (they have a classic book every Thursday). It's become next on my reading list since it's one of my favorite books and it's definitely time for a re-read!
  5. I gave up on Mansfield Park yesterday. It's not that I wasn't enjoying it, I liked it. For some reason though, I kept going very slow and I've been reading it on and off for 2 months almost... I've lost my mojo! I decided to set it aside and start it again sometime next year. I have big plans for next year when it comes to reading and Mansfield Park will be tackled again I've already started Affinity by Sarah Waters which so far is interesting. I got it from the British Council library randomly so I have no clue about the author. Has anyone read this book? I did a search on the forum earlier but I couldn't find a thread with the author. Forgot to mention. I did finish The Colour of Magic and I have really mixed feelings about it. It was interesting and it definitely made me want to read more. On the other hand I feel like I haven't understood the whole book, I still don't know the characters well and I'm honestly a bit confused about the whole world it shows. I assume reading more and more of the volumes in the series will help. I just found it a bit... difficult at times. Still, very enjoyable, need to read the second one soon.

  19. Odd assortment of books... I read Harry Potter, Twilight, Atonement, Life of Pi, The Da Vinci Code and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.
  20. When I get a new book, I like to keep it in good condition. If something happens to it, unless it's really bad than I don't mind it too much. I did stop lending books to someone though because he allowed rain to reach my book and then didn't even apologize.
  21. Happy Birthday! :)
