  1. I never even knew Neverending Story WAS a book! I never liked the movie (or movies?) though.
  2. I've only read one and a half (don't ask) Stephen King books, but I did enjoy them. I'll have to pick up some more and read them.
  3. Awwhh nobody's talking about poor Jim. I'm 330 pages into Crickley Hall. 110 pages a day isn't bad going, and it'll be more than that by tonight as I'll probably get through about 50-100 today. So far I'm really enjoying it. I love Gabe, Loren and Cally, they're all likeable characters with pretty distinct personalities. Cally is really sweet, the way she always turns up with Smarties is quite endearing I don't like Eve as much, but I never like so I don't like her. Overall so far I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
  4. I discovered these 75c pizzas in Tesco. Now, I know too many are probably lethal and lead to death, but they taste exactly like any boxed Goodfella's pizza, so I'm delighted. Cheap food is gooooooood.
  5. Seriously. I wanted her companion, floating about in shark infested water next to her, to break into discussion about existentialism or something. It could not have been more stupid. Also, the acting was terrible, so it sounded like a genuine query from a stupid person or something.
  6. Ohhhhh I can't believe I forgot to say in the pm - hope the wrist feels better soon!! Such a shame it turned out to be a fracture :( could be worse though, my mother was on a ladder about 3 years ago putting up decorations. It was on a laminated wooden floor, ladder slipped and she shattered her elbow. Major surgery and physiotherapy :P xxx

  7. Open Water. That wonderful movie featuring the thought provoking line, 'We are where we are, aren't we?'
  8. I haven't seen BJM, but I was looking it up today. I might get it.
  9. Oh yeah, I definately just got lucky with it, Beth. I adored the comics, I'd love to see them done out properly in a comic book. I saw Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult in a shop today, can anyone tell me whether I should pick it up? It was €4 second hand. There's about 7 books in town I want to buy
  10. Okay I'm glad to see so many people enjoyed The Secret Of Crickley Hall, because I managed to get it for €2.50 in a charity shop today. It's huge! 630 pages! I'da bought ANY book of 630 pages for €2.50!
  11. I saw a book by her in a charity shop today, but I picked up two others so I might grab it another day.
  12. Just had some Haagen Dazs Cookies And Cream. MMMM.
  13. That's right, rub it in our faces.
  14. Oh cool. I'll keep an eye out for it anyway. Have you read a book by her called 'Where Or When'? I already had it on my reading list, but I've forgotten what it's even about now. :P

  15. Oooh I like the sound of this! Must add it to my wishlist.
  16. Hi Inver.... glad to see you enjoyed another Jodi Picoult book! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that one. And thanks for the review on the Anita Shreve book, she's another author that's on my wishlist, I had no particular book choice by her, I just wanted to read *A* book at some point. Might try 'Light On Snow'.
  17. I don't MIND whether it's hardback or paperback, I'm just being curious! I'm really excited about reading it now.
  18. OOoooh it's lovely! Is it hardback or paperback?
  19. Oh Cameron Diaz is in it! Interesting to see someone THAT well known in a book adaption. I don't WANT to like Cam, but I always love any movie she's in.
  20. I've only really recently discovered Kings Of Leon as anything other than 'that band that has that stupid song title about sex.' They're actually a bloody good band - I'm amazed. I love their sound, but it's nothing amazing. But LYRICALLY - they just nail certain sentiments, at least one in every song. My current favourites: 'I get lost in the night, so high, I don't wanna come down.' - Revelry and particularly "I never ever cried when I was feeling down, I've always been scared of the sound, Jesus don't love me, no one ever carried my load, I'm too young to feel this old." - Cold Desert. Oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well include the lines I like most from Rizzo's signature song, which are my favourite lines in any song in Grease, and also related to the above sentiment: "I could hurt someone like me, Out of spite, or jealousy I don't steal, and I don't lie but I can feel, and I can cry - A fact I'll bet you never knew. But to cry in front of you; That's the worst thing I could do.'
  21. I didn't know My Sister's Keeper was being turned into a movie! Oh I can't wait to read it now! They're going mad turning loadsa books into movies, aren't they?
  22. Eric is the only thing so far I'm really happy with!
  23. I couldn't get into this book - it felt too forced. Might give it another go at some point but as someone who knows people with Aspergers, (who are admittedly mostly high-functioning) I still thought it was too forced.
  24. Awh, how sweet! Thank you! I know, she's totally underrated isn't she? I don't actually like John Travolta, or Olivia Newton John all that much - so the whole Rizzo and Kenicke thing was much more my preferred storyline. Sandy changes who she is in the end to be cool, which sucks - but Rizzo stays herself the whole time, we just learn to see that she has different sides to her, which are all pretty cool really.

    I'm rambling.

  25. Ohh I'm looking forward to TTW, but I don't like the fading (he definatley went POOF in the book, I'm certain she said it) and I don't like that people have the wrong colour hair.
