  1. Just wait til you get to Allegiant, it will drive you crazy.

You know, it doesn't sound like something I would normally pick up, but it does sound GOOD, so I'm gonna challenge myself to read the first book at the very least.

  2. Wales has some corkers! We went here a couple of years ago just to see this sign at the railway station!

(It’s known locally as Llanfair PG, I believe!)

    That.... is just impractical. :o

In 2014 at this point I had acquired 9 books, so I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped, but if I compare it to the same point in 2013 I had acquired 25 new books, so it could be worse! :giggle2:

If I had managed to buy 10 books for £9 I'd be DELIGHTED!

  3. I joined this forum when I was ten (gasp... that's nine years ago! :o). I'm twenty in July!

That is legitimately terrifying, I remember you being like 12/13 and still think of you essentially as a kid. Good lord. I am getting so old. Someone save me, please?

I'd love to see then-and-now pics

  4. Not getting another call from the mobile number I didn't recognise when it called me yesterday. That kind of thing really stresses me out. And no, I don't call/text back because I don't want to know who is at the other end, I just want them to leave me alone.

  5. FInished The Sky Is Everywhere today, and am about 120 pages from the end of World After, so I'll get that finished this week and hopefully one other book. I'm also taking my time getting through Pawnee by Leslie Knope  I think I might start a couple of other books and see which most takes my fancy - including Only Ever Yours, as I know someone on here is eager to chat about it :)

  6. Did I mention in here that I watched Death Of A Superhero? Irish/German film based off a book apparently by a German author with a totally Irish name (Anthony McCarten, I think.)

It starred Andy Serkis as a shrink for Thomas Brodie-Sangster's terminally ill 16 year old. Little bit odd at times, but a very good film and the cinematography was stunning (it's wonderful to see Irish landscapes through the lens of high production values - this is a beautiful country but usually only seen in lower budget films).

I really want to read the book but can't find an English e-copy anywhere, so I think I'm gonna have to buy a hardcopy when I get a bit more money.

  7. Glad you had such a good time June, you're making me even more antsy to go to Iceland! Hoping to start saving this year to go :)

I was supposed to go to Kerry this weekend to visit a friend and my family, but due to my own idiocy (lost my atm card) it ended up not happening so I'm having a fairly chilled out weekend at home, reading and watching Parks & Recreation.

  8. I finished the novella The Sense Of An Ending by Julian Barnes. Bit of a slow burner and a dense read, but beautifully written with many passages now highlighted for me to revist. Will review it properly tomorrow.

I've gotten a bunch of YA books, including We Were Liars, The Sky Is Everywhere and Only Ever Yours, and am continuing slowly with World After.
