  1. I'm torn...I like both. I do enjoy happy endings when all your favourite characters end up with everything they wanted and everything. But...I also feel slightly cheated at some happy endings. Like the last Harry Potter book, I read the ending and immediately thought 'What?! That's ****!'. But then sad endings also depress me! Like the ending of Noughts and Crosses, I cried and cried for far too long. :)

I think there needs to be a balance between the two..somehow!

  2. Hello. I also read the Twilight series and loved them. I highly recommend the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman for your daughter. They are similar in few ways to Twilight; they're young adult books and they are first and foremost a tragic love story. They are about humans though :D. There are four books in the series and they all involve some very serious and thought-provoking issues which are present in our current society. However, they still manage to be an exciting and very enjoyable read.

I've loved them for six years! :)

  3. oooh I'm definately team Jacob:lol:

Edward is an over protective control freak!

    :D I disagree, hehe :).

I am Team Edward all the way! Obviously because I am the typical fan and fell in love with him too, as you do. I also really liked Emmet as he has some really funny quotes in the series. To be honest, Jacob just irritated me! But I can see why the books would have been lacking without him. Ok, I also love Alice too! And Jasper. But not Rosalie.

    Ok, I'll stop now :)

  4. I found out about the Twilight saga only last month, bought them all, read them in a week and fell in love. I read the blurb and was put off initially as I usually stick to books about humans as I find anything else hard to believe. But I decided to give them a chance when I heard about the hype surrounding them. I'm so glad I did. I'm a huge Twilight fan now!

    I would rate them 10/10 :)

  5. Hello everyone :D. This is my first post as I'm new to this forum! I wanted to join a place where I could ask a few questions and also chat with others about books. I've just recently finished the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer (I'm sure pretty much everyone has heard of it by now...) and fell completely in love with them! I discovered the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman about five years ago and have never stopped loving them either.

I would love to hear of everyone's recommendations for other sagas? There's something about a series of books that draws me in. Harry Potter is another favourite of mine. Other authors I love are: Dorothy Koomson, Jodi Picoult, Adele Parks, Melissa Hill, Nicholas Sparks and Ceceilia Ahern (amongst many, many others). I would love to find another hidden gem in the book world with a beautiful saga.

I would be grateful for any replies. Sorry about the length of this post, I wasn't sure how long they're supposed to be?!

Amongst all that waffle...I would just love to hear about any sagas that any of you would recommend. I'm quite open minded :)
