  1. Well I doubt this series will let you down then.
  2. I just happy that someone else will try and read this series!
  3. I would have to say The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon because it really gave me a better view to the Jewish community, the homosexual community, and the ideas of high and low classes in the 1930-1950s.
  4. This is pretty much a saga even though the books can be read in any order. Its an urban fantasy novel that is pretty amazing. It could be called the Newford saga and it is by Charles De Lint. There are at least 10 different novels and over 30 different short stories relating to this city where the magic occurs and they revolve around many characters that you see through all different perspectives throughout these stories. These are really adult stories that deal with events that are for mature audiences but they are outstanding books that have amazing characters, writing, and stories that keep you gripped from page one. If you want to start the series start with the collection of short stories called Dreams Underfoot. The book introduces almost all of the major characters in the city so whatever book you read next you will be familar with the setting.
  5. There are the obvious favorites like the Harry Potter and Inheritance series but my favorites are any book by Dahl and The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.
  6. I find that amazing too because most of my friends are proud that they don't read. I would not lie about reading either because I've read and am still reading enough books to impress someone anyway.

    Hola

Really, I think spanish is a great language that sounds a lot better than english because saying "The Penguins" sounds so bland while "Los Pinguinos" just rolls of the tounge.
  10. I've only read Life Expectancy but I have to say that was a great book. It was humorous throughout with a ton of likable characters and it was good enough for me to want to read his other novels.
  11. I'm looking forward to a bunch of comics(I really am not sure why) and Dean Coontz's Velocity.
  12. I've been reading the series and The Great Hunt is my favorite for now but the one thing I dislike about the books is that when the climax (huge fighting scene) is reached you get so into the book that you automatically want to read the next one. Then when you start reading it you got back into maybe 400 straight pages of exposition where there might not be any really interesting scenes at all.

    Hola

Yo wassup homies. I'm The Penguins and I'm a guy! My favorite book of all time is a three way tie between A Thousand Splendid Suns, A Million Little Pieces, and The Onion Girl. I love reading and discussing books and I want to put my mark on this forum. Let us begin then.
