  1. I read 'The Spy That Came In From The Cold' years ago and really enjoyed it, it's a great introduction to spy thrillers. It is so hard to believe that the Cold War actually took place in the way that it did, and in such recent times too. Great challenge Hayley, such a clever way of trying new genres.
  2. Happy Birthday Kylie. Have a gorgeous day. X

  3. That would be the crime / thriller version of the Star Trek Away Mission Expendable I would think VF?
  4. What a great video. I love the quotes and the light bulbs! Thank you for posting this Julie.
  5. Let us know how you get on. I'm catching up with myself a little this week. I seem to be about 3 weeks out of sync in my head at the moment so list writing has become essential. So this week is about home and hearth. The weather is definitely conducive to staying indoors anyway so it works out well.
  6. You shouldn't feel obliged to write a review. For me reading other people's it's a case of knowing whether they liked it or not, and the reasons. For 'White Fang' you have said that you enjoyed the imagery and the 'great descriptions of White Fang's psychology throughout his life experiences.' (<quote!), so you have covered it! I get all funny with my reviews and I get all vague and pretty meaningless.
  7. It does seem ages doesn't it? I just hope that Cassandra Clare is able to bring the series to a worthy conclusion as 'City Of Lost Souls' was a great set up for a mighty last book. Have finished 'Sanctum' by Sarah Fine, and have since read the little few chapters long short 'Captive ~ A Guard's Tale', with an alternate perspective of a few of the 'Sanctum' chapters. I am thoroughly enjoying this dark and menacing world (what does that say about me?) , so have immediately started the Book Two of the series 'Fractured'.
  8. 'White Fang' is now on my wish list! EDIT - White Fang has been 'bought' - free on kindle! A big YES from me to see a few of your doodles.
  9. You've not been up to much then Lucy? Blooming heck lovely, you've had a lot on your plate. I hope all the upcoming investigations and surgeries go brilliantly for you. House buying too? Lovely stuff, although we may insist on giving you advice on where you put your bookshelves and whatnot!. Photos may be required.
  10. My best wishes to you and your family KM, I'm glad it was peaceful for him. Take good care of yourself in the coming weeks.
  11. I hope you don't have too much flood damage. We are very lucky where we are, as our village sits on a rise (not quite a hill!), so it's our surrounding roads and lanes that are flooded rather than us directly.
  12. I'm reading 'Sanctum' by Sarah Fine. It was cheap on the kindle and it appealed to me. I am quite captivated by the dark world the author has created and am finding myself pondering aspects of the book while I go about my day.
  13. I have been wracking my brain over this one, and I think I would suggest starting with the old school writing. I found my way into crime fiction and thrillers through the likes of Sherlock Holmes, Dorothy L Sayers, Agatha Christie, Patricia Highsmith and Raymond Chandler. I'm not sure if my appreciation of the genre would have the depth and breadth it has if it were not for these authors.
  14. Hey Lucy! Me again!!!! Happy Birthday ~ have a terrific day! XXX

  15. *Hand thrust high into the air* Me please, can I enter all of the giveaways?
