  1. Derek figured, when the time came, the crawlspace would be the best place to hide. 'Too Close To Home' ~ Linwood Barclay
  2. There seem to be a few a'wandering mojos around at the moment, mine included. Linwood Barclay's 'Too Close To Home' arrived in the post today. I may catch my mojo with it (fingers crossed!).
  3. I ordered this on Monday, having heard such good things about it. I'm glad to read how high you rated it!
  4. Hello and welcome! What on earth is hamburger soup?
  5. SueB? Nah, don't remember you! Good to see you back on the boards! I hope all is well with you.
  6. In the UK the re runs are at the point where Today I think we are heading toward that horrible, horrible, horrible episode with Christopher That's the great and appalling thing about this show. I am angst ridden in anticipation of this episode, I hate it so very much. Equally I can't wait to watch it. I feel so desperately sorry for L & L. how horrible to have all parties against you for no good reason.
  7. I have 'The Red Tent' on my TBR pile. We are talking the Anita Diamant novel, aren't we? I know Inver has read it, and I bought my copy having read her review / comments on it. I think it might be worth helping this climb your TBR list, I will too ~ we may be delighted!
  8. University Challenge. Sometimes I can even understand the questions!
  9. I think there is also an age for some books. I remember being blown away by John Fowles 'The Magus' when I was in my late teens, but when I tried to read it again in my thirties I found it laboured and trying too hard to be clever.
  10. So did I.
  11. Soup with crusty rolls. We had left over chinese for lunch, so wanted something light.
  12. Serenity. I love this film.
  13. I read that and then had a sudden image of a book creeping down from a shelf in the dead of night, sneaking up to your sleeping form and going "Boo!" in a high pitched heliumesque voice!
  14. According to her website, Becca Fitzpatrick has written 'Crescendo', a sequel to 'Hush Hush' that is due out Autumn 2010.
  15. It was noticed! I hope you are planning on reading all of those 5466 posts, just so you can catch up with things.
  16. Kung Po Chicken, the House Special Fried Rice, crispy shredded duck and pancakes and barbeque spare ribs. Each dish cooked to perfection!
  17. We had a delicious chinese takeaway. It helped that as we ate it was absolutely tipping with rain outside ~ somehow helped to make the food taste better!
  18. Live At The Apollo.
  19. I loved the book, but haven't seen the film, so I couldn't say. Perhaps I should sort out the film at some point and carry out a comparison.
  20. I finished 'The Possession Of Mr. Cave' by Matt Haig tonight. It is such a powerful read I feel quite drained now. It is the story of a father's descent into paternal madness made possible through his intense grief, guilt and tragic childhood. This was a book recommended and reviewed by Weave, and I'm not sure whether to thank her or make her promise to never mention books to me again! Such a read, such a remarkable book. To have read this following 'Therapy' by Sebastian Fitzek, the story of another grief stricken father the impact has been a little overwhelming.
  21. I read Paul Auster's 'New York Trilogy' about ten or fifteen years ago, and you are correct about that perception shift that it generates. I must rummage around and find my copy. It is definitely time for fresh read.
  22. Still In Love ~ Sean Paul (featuring Sasha)
