  1. I've already got Mr Wicher but will probably have a look at the others.
  2. I remember my daughter reading this. I will have to see if she still has a copy.
  3. From the back cover: Romance, glamour, seismic sex and delightful comedy

  5. Not sure whether I like the idea or not. I suppose it would depend on the availability of newly released books and the cost of them. Whilst I like the idea of being able to hold a physical book if I am completely honest I am running out of space to keep more. The idea of being able to hold dozens of books on a little card is something to be considered. I suppose as well if you consider the amount of paper used to publish all the books we see each year would this alternative be more environmentally friendly? Maybe something I will look at in one form or another if the prices decrease a bit.
  6. It's been a slow year this year. Hoping to read more in 2009. Of what I've read I think it would be difficult to choose an overall top book. Whilst I have not quite finished Score by Jilly Cooper I do think it would have to feature somewhere in the list.
  7. Midnight's Children. Fantastic.

    Hi :)

    Hello and welcome
  9. I can't say I would want to work there. If you know the score and take the job then you can hardly complain really.
  10. I always start another book straight away after finishing one. I cannot possibly be without a book to read.
  11. Body Double is great. One of my favourites.
  12. I read whenever I have a spare minute as I work from home. When I used to commute to work I would read on the commute to and from and also during any breaks.
  13. I don't think I could limit it to three but I have had a go:lol: These are in no particular order as that would make it too difficult. Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte Bleak House, Charles Dickens Oliver Twist, Charles Dickens. There are more that should be up there though.
  14. I would have to put all the Harry Potter books, The Northern Lights Trilogy by Philip Pullman, The Narnia Books by CS Lewis and the books by Arthur Ransome.
  15. I don't actively go out of my way to avoid anything. If something sounds good I will give it a go.
  16. I'm surprised at that finding. The number of people I speak to who think it is weird to read amazes me. That is not just teenagers either but across the age spectrum. Personally I wouldn't waste my time in lying. If I haven't read something it is an opportunity to read it and I don't mind admitting I haven't read something.
  17. Lets see what I can add here over the next few months. 2008 Score, Jilly Cooper - 31/12/08 2009 The Shell Seekers, Rosamunde Pilcher - 20/1/09 Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte - 4/2/09 The Constant Gardener, John Le Carre - 14/4/09 Handle With Care, Jodi Picoult - 30/5/09
  18. This must be one of my favourite books. It does not matter how many times I read it, it is as though I am reading it for the first time. Perhaps a re-read for over christmas?? I don't think I should have looked at this list. As if I have not got enough to read. Diana Gabbaldon outlander series i am sure all books are over 500 pages. I love these books. Some of them are over 1000 pages. Can't wait to start the next one. When I began CrossStitch it took me at least two attempts to get into it. Since then I have not been able to put the books down. Absolutely fantastic and come highly recommended from me.
  19. Only just noticed your message. Thank you for asking. Yes, I am enjoying the forum and looking forward to participating more as I find my way around.

  20. It is quite some time ago since I read his book but it is the one Joanne Harris book that I have not managed to finish.
  21. Audible have got a brilliant unabridged version of Bleak House by Charles Dickens.
