Ohhh, this is on my reading list for A-level English Literature! My friend loves WWI literature (more than me, and she doesn't even do English Literature at A-level) and she read it and said it was EXCELLENT so now im reading it over christmas Im only up to about page 30 but I already think its pretty good
-
I wish WWI poetry had been on the menu when I was at school...instead it was Shakespeare.
Im doing both! Im not sure what I prefer - I think I prefer Shakespeare overall, but at the moment I prefer WWI literature because my Shakespeare teacher is AWFUL!
-
I watched Blackadder Goes Forth on Sunday, because it's relevant to my A Level!
The perfect excuse to watch it again...
Its the same for me because im doing WWI literature for A-level! So every weekend, I watch 'Blackadder Goes Fourth' (for revision purposes of course!)
-
I love the director Stanley Kubrick, so when I was watching many of his films, I saw Lolita. I thought the film was brilliant, so I asked for the book for christmas (and got it ) so its now on my reading pile for 2009! I also didn't realise there was an updated version with Jeremy Irons in it, but im defeninatly going to buy that version now Actually, when I got the book, I thought it looked like Jeremy Irons on the front cover, so it is probably a picture from that version on the front of my book!
-
I love the film 'Rebecca' (I love Laurence Olivier!) and I brought the book in a second-hand bookshop but haven't read it yet!
It's on my reading pile for 2009!
-
I buy most of my books from charity shops, I only buy the ones in really good condition...
If I buy more books in charity shops, they will have to be in perfect condition otherwise id hate touching something someone else previously had and not knowing where it had been and being kinda ruined (that probably sounds odd!)
-
I watched The Green Mile and then I read the book and I can't decide which I prefer.
Iv seen the Green Mile, and thought it was ok (but overrated from what others told me about it!) For this reason, I don't know if I want to borrow the book of my friend to read (who said the book was fantastic, but she did like the film more than me!)

He interestingly observed that he wouldn't wish not to be bipolar, as in his manic periods he was most creative.
I thought that was intereasting too! I also didn't realise he had bipolar until I saw that documentary!

Oh I will try .. I hate giving up on a book especially as I've come this far!
Same! Even if im finding I really hate the book, im like I must continue to the end!
-
When is it out? June or July?
-
I brought a few books from a charity shop the other day which I have never done before
-
I find it really hard to read with others around me for some reason so I can never read when im travelling in the morning or evening! Thats why I always read in the evening at home

I'm reading 'My Booky Wook' by Russell Brand and I'm really struggling to stay interested in it. I'm about half way through it now and to be honest its starting to bore me . Its a shame really cause I really like Russell, I like his standup and love his Ponderland shows too . My stubborness has so far stopped me giving up on this book but my resolve is wavering!
Try and continue! I thought it was brilliant and I read it in about 3 days!
-
It hasn't got a lot of action in it as its more just about the characters thoughts but I really enjoyed that aspect of it because it made a change from what iv read before Try it though - you may be surprised! My friend read an overview of it and was like this looks rubbish but when I convinced her to read it and she did, she admitted she really enjoyed it
-
They might repeat it on BBC2 at like 2am or something so look out
I didn't know there was a QI Annual! Im going to have to get that now
-
Titanic! Me and my friend Emma LOVE this film so we always watch it together
-
I also want a new series of QI to be on soon
-
We didn't have to pay for our copies because my teacher said she would take them back in but I really want to keep it! I also really want to see a production of Journey's End but there's nothing on near me
-
I read Shakepeare at school a lot and really enjoy them, and when I watch the various film versions afterwards, they're never as good as the book
-
I must have watched The Railway Children (both the original version, and the more recent Attenborough version) about 125,327 times and I still cry every single time Bobby says...
"Daddy! My Daddy!"
Same!
-
Im re-reading Regeneration now in preperation for my coursework question about it being an anti-war novel!
-
My sister brought me a bookmark for christmas aswell as 'The End of the Affair' by Grahem Greene which I have been after
-
I saw an advert recently on the BBC for a dramatisation of the book (I think!)
-
Im now reading 'The Liar' by the great Mr. Fry which is also so-far brilliant
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Suskind
in General Fiction

I saw the film (which I loved, even though I was quite confused by the ending!) so now this is on my reading list for 2009! I hope I enjoy it as much (or more than) the film
