  1. Pleased I'm not the only one! So you are from Aberdeen! Didn't make it there when I did a fleeting trip through Scotland. Loved the place though...I have Scottish blood flowing through these veins...I'm a Yule!! (or rather was before marriage!) Apparently my family hark from Edinburgh. I only found this out AFTER I had been there. Very frustrating and sad too because I didn't realise I actually had relatives there; a great aunt who was left behind with the somewhat authoritarian grandmother when the rest of the family migrated to Australia in 1928/29.

  2. Here I was replying to your message in my profile only to discover I wrote it to myself. Yeah, doing a great job of finding my way around the forum . Ah well. Will get it eventually.

  3. Thanks...am slowly. It's hard to find all the right places sometimes in the limited time I have to visit here, but am enjoying it!

  4. Hi Polly Welcome! I've travelled up there in the north of Scotland...Went to the other side though...the Orkney Islands. Interesting place, rugged beauty, and I loved the heather which was flowering at the time of my visit.

    Hi all!

40 - 0 that is a trouncing!! Must confess though, I did the bathed the kids, did the ironing and fed the baby...not all THAT interested really! But I was surprised at the score! "No, I'm a South Londoner": Well the sharks are from the south of Sydney, so I guess that is close enough! (Sorry don't know how to quote, have to use the old fashioned method!) And I guess the shirt is a good enough reason to follow any team .

    Hi all!

Isn't the general consensus though that you go for whoever is playing Manly? Afterall, no-one likes Manly. However now Melbourne is there, I think the caveat, unless they're from another state gets added. Thus, by default, you have to go for Manly!
  9. As a young girl I loved The Famous Five Series, Trixie Belden Series, Flambards Series among others. I would now add to that list, The Chronicles of Narnia (must go back and read them again.....) Got to go...kids:hyper:
  10. BBQ steak & salad....means not much cooking to do

    Hi all!

Thanks for the welcome! It's now cooled off here and is drizzling, so I am going to read as much as is possible today. I've got two books on the go (something I don't like doing!) so want to get one or the other read.

    Hi all!

Oh my goodness, I didn't realise there was a whole world of book lovers out here in cyber world just waiting to be found! Sadly, at present with young children my reading time is somewhat limited. (I do remember those days fondly when Mum used to repeatedly call for me to get my nose out of the book and ....(insert whatever chore was needing to be done or meal to be eaten....) However, having children does mean i get to enjoy wonderful children's picture books and to see them enjoy books too! Will fill in with more details later...bye for now from a very hot Sydney evening! (think it is still about 30 celsius at 10.30pm!)
