I agree with you. I mean, she tells Sunshine to share the crisps, and when the whole thing escalates to this huge deal she says that she didn't even want them for herself, she was just thinking others would enjoy them. Well if others want them, they can speak for themselves. Josie started the whole thing but managed to stay in the background when the three wicked witches attacked Sunshine. I don't think she necessarily planned it that way, but it was definitely convenient that she wasn't accused of anything.

I've just finished Peyton Place and the book kept getting better and better, leaving me with no other choice than to give it 4/5.

Still reading Peyton Place, it's actually getting better and better. Not that it's fantastic, but I don't constantly feel awful having to read it anymore.

Sorry to hear about your wake up call Abby You've got our support if you need a boost and a little encouraging to go and get to the gym I know what you mean about being self-conscious at the gym, I myself was really nervous and scared of going to the gym the first time, this fit instructor going over the equipment with me, and all these buffed up guys and girls being there. But I soon noticed there are all types and shapes of people and not one single one of them was embarrassed so why should I be either, when there's no real reason to be? I think once you go there and do it a couple of times you'll feel more comfortable with it And try to forget about the mirrors, they're not there to make you see your weight but to help you watch how you're doing the exercise and if you could do something differently and more efficiently. Look for the muscles and concentrate on looking at them Gaining 4 lbs last month might feel bad Abby, but remember that when you get to work, you'll be able to shed those pounds. You've done it before, and you can do it again. I believe in you One thing I have to say is that once a day in the gym, everyday is too much. Your body needs at least one day of rest per week to recover from the all the workout you're putting in, and it really does your body good. If you feel like you can't just not do something, go for a walk or play outdoor games. I know you are all-or-nothing -kind of person when you're into something, and I get it, I'd like to go to the gym everyday myself, but I promise your body needs a day off. And you won't grow tired of the gym when you don't go there everyday. =)

I'm watching the day after Gowan was gone and I can't believe people are being so awful to Sunshine about her crisps! She's a vegan and gets these special kinds of foods she can eat, and apparently she was sharing her pizza and then Josie went off and told her to share her chips as well. The poor girl wanted to wait till the next day when she could have bread with the chips and then share but no that's not alright in the house of the three evil bullies. Like they would've shared theirs. Argh! Sunshine's not my favorite person, she rubs me the wrong way a lot of the time but I'm on her side about Crispgate. Edit: Thinking over, this must be about more than just the crisps, it's about class differences? Everyone thinks Sunshine's a spoiled brat. I can't believe some of the things Nathan's saying, he's never been a favorite of mine and now he plummeting even further down.

No I won't, because coincidentally 'kiva' is a word in Finnish and it means 'nice' I've actually started to think a bit on the same lines as you, although I haven't gone as far as to think it's a game plan. Just a plan to make her seem more attractive to JJ

Ooooh!! I have something to look forward to! They'd make a cute couple She must've started getting nervous when Iffy told her and C-woman (don't know how to spell her name) that she was bored of their stuff sometimes. It was really nice to see Iffy in the diary room, telling BB that she's not used to people who have tantrums. It seems like she's the smartest of the bunch. Of course Shabby wouldn't even try and understand where Iffy was coming from while C was okaying the situation. Shabby must've then realised she doesn't have power over Iffy. Shabby really said she thinks she must be one of the most popular people in the house? Well it's nice to be a bit delusional, reality's a bitch sometimes BTW, Shabby and Gowan were discussing nominations in code ("do you like pasta"?) and later on they were talking about who Ben had nominated. Now, so far nothing's been done, but should the not be punished?? Bloody hell if they're not. Me too, when I first saw him in the first real episode I couldn't see what my friend saw in him and I thought he's just stand offish, but the next episode I liked him better and better and now I could just listen to him all day... What a horrid thing to do to a person!!! Oh my. It's really funny how much I hate her and yet how much fun I have watching her and hating her. BTW, doesn't Shabby know the 'Tree' is not supposed to be nice to talk to? Doesn't she know it's got a cheeky mouth and will call everyone names? She was getting so offensive when the Tree was talking to her, even after she'd failed her task on purpose. What do you expect!?! Edit: I've just watched further and they did get punished, but I was hoping for a bigger punishment, like them being up for eviction. It was really annoying watching Shabby and John James going all "noo noo", like they hadn't done anything. Edit: As a fan of Ben, I'm sooo annoyed that others talk about nominations, and about who Ben might've nominated, in secret, and yet again Ben's called out and the shite hits the fan and he gets a bollockking.

Wow, what a great haul Nienna! Fforde and Atwood are superb and Mitchell and Gaiman I have on my wishlist. You've got good taste

What?? I mean, I agree with you on your thoughts on Shabby, but I haven't seen that episode yet. I've just watched episode 13 which was day 12 I guess, and Ben put another leg in his mouth saying Shabby seemed pleased to hear John James and Josie were having a go at each other and he might be leaving. What are your thoughts on the situation and Ben vs Shabby in general? Personally, I like Ben. He just has a habit of making very clever and incisive remarks about people, and then the news of what he's said spread and the person who was analyzed is so uncertain about themselves that they can't stop for one minute to think if he might actually have some truth in the things he says. He always ends up getting a bollocking and apologizing. Some of them are now disliking Marion as well, because he's on Ben's side. Goodness I hate Shabby. JCW, like you said, she's really immature and way too out there on her egotistical cruise, I thought she's like 20, tops.

Went to the library, got me some books and bought Lois Lowry's The One hundredth Thing About Caroline for 20 cnt. It'll be a re-read from childhood, not as good as Anastasia Krupnik but something nostalgic anyways.

Well, we're usually at the gym for 1,5 hours because we do the warm-up, then do our thing with the equipment and then also do 10-15 minutes to "warm-down" (?). The equipment stuff used to take longer before because we were chatting too much, now we're more used to the equipment and have exhausted our common convo we just do our own thing. We don't go there to do this or that much time, but rather do all the exercise we've planned to do. Do give yourself credit for fully intending to do more than 1 hour, it's not your fault the stupid gym doesn't stay open for longer Ours is a good one, it's open from 5 AM to 11 PM. Why are you feeling overloaded? Too much stuff on your plate? You know how to reach me if you want a chat =) Here here! Aww, that's so sweet Kylie! I definitely think we'd make a really good team, we'd be pushing each other on and support each other and celebrate together when we've reached our goals and plan new ones. AND have loads of fun at the same time I have to say, I'm glad that the pal of mine got me into signing in at the gym but I'm growing weary of her company. We are very, very different from each other, she's quite the pessimist and likes to find fault at stuff, and while I'm sometimes like that myself I usually try and find the good in things. And there's no support system at all! Yesterday I was really happy because I went from 40 to 50 kilos on the leg press (especially because there's no adding only 2,5 or 5 kilos but the next level is 10 kilos more) and I told her about it. I said I was really happy to go the next weight with it. She didn't say a word. I continued and said it made me feel really good. Again, she was keeping quiet. Then I pressed on (just for the laugh of it, because I'm getting used to her not being happy on anybody's behalf) and said "especially because I added 10 more kilos!". I guess she realised at this point that she'll have to say something so I'll lose interest in the matter and she said "okay". LOL! I mean c'mon!! What is the point of going to the gym together with a friend if you don't get to say "that's great, congratulations!" and hear the same thing back! I'm glad I'm old/mature enough to not let her ruin my own happiness about it, but I just find it really curious that there are such people like that. It's not like I'm only bragging to her, I'd be more than happy to hear about her progress as well and cheer her on. There are so many other stories like that I could share. Everytime after I come home from the gym, I chat with BF on IRC and the first thing I do is I tell him what my gym pal was like that day. If I didn't love going to the gym as much as I do, she would totally ruin it for me. Kylie, too bad there aren't more women on your gym. I know how you feel around all the guys, thinking they're only checking out the girls. But I think more than that they are curious about what kind of weights the girls do and are just generally interested in what other people are doing in the gym. Sure they're checking people out as well, but don't let that bother you. Just concentrate on the weight and the moves and doing them as best as you can, feeling your muscles working for it

It's a very personal thing indeed. With beer, if one's out to get drunk, one needs to drink more in quantity than with wine, and it's sure to make you feel bloated. You feel that way after two pints! How much is a pint, by the way? Here you get 0,33 litres if you want a small one or a bottle, then there's 0,40 and 0,50 as well. I think it's only good if you body can't deal with more than two pints of beer or drink too much wine before dozing off, it'll make you not be able to crash Have you tried Finlandia vodka? Ooshie, you must be in a total state of bliss, your 6 week hols starting tomorrow, I'm happy for you! Working in a school is great that way, isn't it? I'm also happy to hear you've decided to dedicate your hols to start doing more exercise and fix your eating habits. We'll be expecting daily reports from you for the next 6 weeks, missy Awww, it's so sweet your son's concerned about your diet, he obviously cares about his Mum. Kylie, that's excellent news about the pants, I'm so proud of you It must be an amazing feeling. Last week I was helping my parents with their move and I worked pretty hard from Monday to Thursday. I wasn't too strict with my diet because I knew I was getting loads of exercise, however I made sure I wouldn't overdo the whole eating thing. Last weekend was Midsummer here and I was out with friends on Friday and spending lovely recovery days on Sat+Sun and I have to say I quite overate. I weighed myself on Monday and I'd put on 3,5 kg! I wasn't too surprised though... However, most of it must be just excess fluids because today I weighed 1,5 kilos less than yesterday. I'm also back to the gym now that I'm home, I went yesterday after a 1,5 weeks off and it was good fun! I did 30 minutes with the crosstrainer and the bike and then I did the whole 7 page routine I have, previously I've only done 4 pages at one time and 3 pages the next time. I was at the gym for about two hours and I felt so good and energetic after that. I <3 gym. Today I'm going to Zumba with a friend, it's been a month since the last time.

Clare_Star, it doesn't sound silly at all. To me, Gilmore Girls is like comfort food but with no calories

Excellent choice, I love the album where that song is on, Jamie Cullum is really talented I'm listening to random Iron Maiden songs, I'd forgotten how great the band is.

I'm listening to Hanoi Rocks for the first time in my life. I know they were a huge success back in the day and are still popular in some parts of the world, but I think that was before I listened to that kind of music so I've managed to dodge them so far. The Dirt book made me curious about M

Oh boy! I've just realised that it's soon July and the reading circle is doing Alice in Wonderland and I've yet to read it. I'd better get a move on and find my copy of it, ooooops!

I think I like to be shocked and read books that have such amazing twists that I could never have seen them coming. Hence Jeffery Deaver I like a good ole detective story every now and then but I usually never guess the whodunnits so it's not that important to me. I have generally no idea why this genre is so appealing. I guess people are always drawn to the dark side of the human mind. I enjoy reading true crime as well.

I started reading Peyton Place by Grace Metalious last night and I'm not particularly impressed with it, I'll have to read on and see if I'll finish it at all.

Deal I've just finished The Dirt by Mtley Cre and I'd recommend it to anyone who's into bios (of bands) and who's not scared of a "little" curse word here and there. It's definitely not for easily disturbed people! Otherwise it's just great, some of the things the band members did were gross and definitely not in any way appropriate, but they do grow on you and I was rooting for each of them in the end. This book's made me want to read other band bios and stuff. 5/5 from me Edit: I was going through the earliest posts on this thread and I didn't notice a thread where we can see how we've rated each of the books we've read. Did we forget to create such a post or have I missed something?

I finished reading The Dirt and I simply loved it, I want to immedialy put it on the must re-read sometime -book list
-
Ah yes, that must've contributed to the quickness of the process Still, in my opinion, pretty good stuff that it's already out

I went to the midsummer sales and to my utter disappointment (and relief) the bookstore was closed! No splurging I did go to the supermarket book section but because the prices are ridiculous there even if they're having a sale, I didn't buy any. However, I noticed that the Bree Tanner book was already there, translated into Finnish and all! How long has it been out in English? If not for long, they've done a very quick work on it. Maybe the translator has gotten a preview copy.

Scoopalicious, that would be very, very tempting indeed, but try to resist because you're in for such an amazing treat with the earlier seasons, they are my favorite and I didn't like season 6 + 7 that much, accept for the Luke moments of course

Still reading The Dirt and absolutely loving it, I can't wait to see how it all pans out for the band in the end.
