Great progress, you guys! It was partly me not being able to go to sleep and thus I could read for longer in bed, but also partly because I was enjoying the book I was enjoying it on a 'this will probably be a 3/5 book for me' level. After that, I've now possibly come to a 3,5-4/5 level. I'll see how it goes But boy there's been stuff that I didn't expect, in the book Friday: 33 pages of Eligible (long day at work and a lot of errands and prep for Saturday's travel meant I didn't have much time to read, unfortunately)

You are totally welcome to join! Hapoy read-a-thon!

Thursday: 163 pages of Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld

I don't like short stories... I like bigger stories Yep, it's a pretty awesome feeling Let's hope it lasts! Haha, I'm way ahead of you! I recently reserved a copy of the Darling book, and I think it's because I read your review, or you recommended it to someone somewhere else Just waiting in line now...

The President's Hat is on my wishlist, I've not read it yet! I don't want to read anything by Nicholas Barreau because I despised his The Ingredients of Love very, very thoroughly. I'm now going to check out A Very Special Year. Thanks chesil!

Cool beans, chesil! Bookmonkey, I see lot of people using a Bullet Journal for grocery list and meal planning. I've never quite figured out how it works, and personally I'm not sure what one would do with it... I'm not judging, I've just been really curious about it. Is it so that one can make sure one eats enough fish per week, or is it so one has ideas of what to do and therefore sufficient variety? And that one would remember which items to buy? I guess I've never had to think about it, it being just me and not having to think about feeding other people. What I have started doing, though, is that on my weekly spread I make a note if I've eaten fish or liver or avocado.

Well done, chalie!! No books bought and 4 books read in January is great stats in my book! And a pre-ordered book back from when you'd not gone on a book buying ban sort of thing doesn't really count! Here's hoping February will be another great month

I want to take part in this. I'm going to meet a friend on Saturday so I might not be able to do any reading on Saturday, but instead I will include Thursday on my read-a-thon (I have the day off). So that's still three days of reading

I think you will like the book! It was so entertaining and easy to read. I'm thinking I want to see what other books Veronica Henry has written
-
Yes, it's quite becoming for some... (Coincidentally, I've started reading Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld, but I don't think there will be any red coats in that ) I didn't mean you found it difficult per se, I just meant you had a difficult time with it for the reasons you mention(ed). I hope it's the production that sucked. I do hope to like the book... But if you throw it out the window, I'm fine with that Might save you time and trouble and irritation... It just happened!!! I think the computer did it on its own. I certainly didn't do it! It's a short-ish book, right? I do like the cover ..

I've taken them iron pills for a while now, and I've been eating more iron-ic () food. And I've just made an appointment with a doctor to sort me out, so that's all I can do at the moment I don't like going to the doctor, but it's got to be done.

I finished reading How to Find Love in a Book Shop by Veronica Henry, and have now picked up Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld.

4. How to Find Love in a Book Shop by Veronica Henry Amazon: Emilia has just returned to her idyllic Cotswold hometown to rescue the family business. Nightingale Books is a dream come true for book-lovers, but the best stories aren't just within the pages of the books she sells - Emilia's customers have their own tales to tell. There's the lady of the manor who is hiding a secret close to her heart; the single dad looking for books to share with his son but who isn't quite what he seems; and the desperately shy chef trying to find the courage to talk to her crush . . . And as for Emilia's story, can she keep the promise she made to her father and save Nightingale Books? Thoughts: I feel like this book has brought back my mojo! I loved reading it and couldn't really get enough of the characters. I wish I could read more about them! The ending was a bit sappy for a few characters but that was only a few pages... Let them have their sappy ending 4/5

It's high on my priority reading list for when I've read all my current library loans! When I got the book, I immediately thought that chalie would love this one, too! The book is gorgeous!! I'm going to show the book to my cousin's daughter when she's started studying English at school, I hope it'll make her want to read books She loves animals so this book might do the trick! (I don't mean that I'll just lend her the book and expect her to read it on her own I'll show pictures and maybe she can spot some words she's learned in school and that kind of stuff ) Is she into fox poop, too? This reminds me of Charm who used to come here, she had a Rottweiler who was a really gentle doggy and he loved nothing better than to roll over in cow pies... No, I've not seen them, but I've googled them and they look great, too!

Disappeared. So many people disappear.

Don't hurry... they seem to be having a good time! Dare I say... they are having a ball? Oh dear... I removed The Children's Book from my wishlist recently, coincidentally, but I still hope to read and love Possession. It's awfully intimidating but I want to love it! But now I'm more scared, if you had a difficult time with the dramatised audio... Also... I said I wouldn't make new reservations for books at the library as I want to get on with my TBR but I think I've accidentally reserved a copy of The Evenings now.

Good luck, Onion Budgie, I hope the changes make a difference

I'm really happy you enjoyed The Reader on the 6.27! It was so short but for me it had a great impact. Like you, I've come across some modern French stuff with quirky characters and it's the kind of thing that I do want to read at fairly regular intervals. I mean I might not get around to it, but it's what I'd like Should you have any recommendations, I'd be happy to hear them out!

^ Exactly It's up to each person what they want to do with it. Personally I've been trying to get rid of a few habits and create a few new ones, so keeping daily track of those things should hopefully help me
-
I'm sure I will! Goodreads was being funny again... I had Lily and the Octopus on my wishlist there, I was sure, but when I checked, it had already been marked as 'Want to Read' instead of 'wishlist. I don't know if that's of my erroneous making or if GR has been going cuckoo again! Surely the latter Dogs are best: they don't discriminate

What an interesting topic There seem to be a lot of egg lovers here! I don't have any staples in that I would always have some particular product, always and forever, but these are the ones I love: red bell pepper onion potato (I love potato but hardly ever have any at home ) milk (this I actually always have to have in the fridge) coffee ( ) avocado (more recently become a favorite) oat (for porridge. Actually this I don't love as much, but this is a staple) oil baby spinach (my new love)

^ Well, you could track something interesting enough that would make you want to check your BuJo on a daily basis. Something that you are passionate about. And while tracking that specific something, it might encourage you to look at the other pages and keep up with stuff. (But also, you don't have to use BuJo for calendar-like purposes, you don't have to keep track of anything. The index system is really good for even noting down quotes on books and keeping book lists and other stuff in one place. It's really the index system that's so clever about the BuJo, and it's the index system that I'm mostly advocating ) Or then you could just try and see what happens. Or then just not try at all, which is also an option
-
Um... Yeah maybe no Oh chalie That would definitely make one a bit more cautious and scared! Most definitely! Yes! And you know what is the best place to track one's saving? BuJo

That's always an idea, but lately when I've tried that, it's not worked But luckily the book I've now picked to read is really good: How to Find Love in a Book Shop by Veronica Henry Perfect stuff!
