  1. No problem Suzanna :D

  2. Hello! :)

Were you able to go and see Let the Right One In?

My friend has a sort of a home theatre movie thingy, this huge screen on the wall and we watch a lot of movies together. He's got a massive collection of movies and he sometimes gives me his list of movies and I can pick what I want to watch and then we watch 'em. Guess what he has got??? Let The Right One In!! I've got dibs on it now :D

  3. Hi Suzanna!

I sent you the book today! I sent it by land because that was somewhat cheaper so it'll take a bit longer to arrive, maybe 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy the book :)

  4. Wow, your BF actually finished a book and enjoyed it!! :D Terry Pratchett works wonders doesn't he. Keep him at it and don't give up! And remember the old saying: the water won't boil any faster if you stare at the kettle. So when he's reading, try not to goggle at him in awe and anticipation!! Good luck!

I've got Maiden's Grave as well, I bought it right after reading Bone Collector and deciding I'll buy anything I can find on Deaver in the charityshops  Well I guess you can read one book on your own, without me reading with you, side by side :tong:

  5. I'm also torn between LR and Dexter. I think it also depends on Charm and Ceinwenn a little, I'd like to have as many people as possible read the Dexter books at the same time. I still need to reread the first two book of Dex because I can't remember much about them so I think I'm in too much of a hurry to start another LR before Dex.

I know, IWTV was too damn good and really set the standars too high for Vampire Lestat  I'm not sure if I'll read another book in this series. But I am keen on reading the Witching Hour by Anne Rice, I can't remember why but it did sound good.

  6. Too bad you're not liking it any more than I am :( (Although I'm a bit relieved that I'm not the only one who's struggling!!) It really is quite heavy going and it seems like it's not going anywhere. I'm on page 158 now I think. And I too have to reread at times because I lose concentration very easily with this book. I've even resorted to reading out loud at times! But I managed to read 20 pages last night before falling asleep and it did seem like it was picking up a bit so I'm going to keep trying at least for a while. I'm still jealous though that you're already almost done with it!! :irked::D Do you have any particular books that you've planned to read next?

  7. Oh the morning wasn't really that bad at all, I'm just impatient to get everything right immediately and if I don't I may use harsh language even though I'm not really totally _that_ upset :) Kinda hard to explain but you know what I mean :)

It seems like your hubby really has his hands full  The tiling, guineapiging for your caramel squares and now putting up a mini library :D Break it to him gently will ya?

A mini library would be nice... a nice little nook with shelves and a comfy chair and a reading light. And maybe a little sidetable for cookies. And a glass of wine. I bet you have it all figured out already. You probably have the idea of where each book goes as well! You know what would look totally amazing. Books organized by colour! I've seen a pic of books organized that way and it was gorgeous :smile2:

  8. Oh man that sounds delicious alright... buns!! And marshmallow traybake... Can you adopt me? Or would you like to hire me for a couple of months to ... um... watch over Piper while you bake? I mean I could do it for free if you're low on cash. Even those caramel squares sound yummy  Just take care your OH doesn't lose his tooth fillings or anything on those cookies

I was taking it kinda easy with the organising so I need to continue tomorrow but I don't mind, it'll be so rewarding in the end :) It's been a really mellow and nice Saturday, I was even happy when it started raining. I went to sauna and now I'm watching telly. Overall I feel just great. Which is really something for me you know, my new meds are working :D

  9. Don't worry about that language thing cause it's really no big deal at all, it just frustrates myself when I cannot express myself accurately. Which is stupid cause how could I know everything, nobody expects me to. But the heck with it, let's carry on with more important things. Like baking :smile2: Mmmmmmm.... I hope you get that superpower we were dreaming about soon!

  10. Oh God this proved to be more difficult than I thought, I'm almost giving up putting some books of mine for grabs in the member's books -area because I don't know how to say that Fablon thing (I really don't like the Fablon word.) Now how's that for perfectionism!!

I'm not having a blonde moment, just a language moment :( See I thought that laminating could also mean putting that Fablon on the covers of a book. Thus laminating a book. I suppose it only works on one sheet of paper? But then if this is the case, how come I find many hits on google for laminated books. Hm I guess it's the difference between saying 'laminated book' or 'laminated book _covers_'. Does that make any sense?

You really need to remember at times that I am Finnish and English is a foreign language to me!!! ;):smile2:

And yes. What can you say about Ross. He's so weird sometimes it's not even funny.

  11. You'd make a great library book technician  That Fablon thing's the one I'm after. What's the verb? I mean how do I say that a paperback is covered with Fablon?

Aaaa **** now I remembered the word I was after. Laminated!!! (Certainly not illuminated like I almost suggested :D) Do you use that word for that meaning? At least in The Frends episode where Ross&Rachel had made a deal they both could make a list of five people (celebs) they were allowed to sleep with if they had the actual chance to do it. And Ross actually had that list printed and _laminated_.:lol:

  12. I'm rummaging through the appartment, sorting out things and cleaning and deciding what to get rid of. I'm glad you're here cause I need you, cause dictionaries are of no use! What is it called when you have a book and you have this see-through plastic thing and you wrap it around the book for cover? I just can't remember the word!! I keep thinking "aluminated" but that can't be it??

  13. Oh you crack me up! "Oh and you're absolutely right, you haven't wisened up at all." Bless you for your honesty and kind words  I wouldn't be the same if I'd wisened up, you're right!

  14. I'm going to have to give you a heads-up: I might give up on The Vampire Lestat. I just can't seem to get on with it, I only read 5 pages before going to bed and feel bored and fall asleep :irked: And yesterday, when I could've read all day, instead I just cleaned the house! Usually it's the other way around. :/ I'm gonna give it a couple of more gos but if it doesn't work out then I'm gonna start something else. (Which by the way bugs me like hell because I really wanted to like this book, I even ordered it online! And I haven't given up on a book in ages... :()

I hope you have a lovely weekend and I hope you're enjoying Lestat far more than I am :)

  15. It's done. I can't go back. I don't feel any different. I dread looking in the mirror. I hope I haven't wrinkled up. Or wisened up. We well have to wait and see....

    Have an excellent Saturday! :D

  16. I think it's getting closer. I think it will happen tonight. Shall I walk into the light? Should I try not to be afraid?

  17. Charm! I feel like something big is about to happen :icon_eek: I don't know what it is. It's really eerie. I cannot see clearly. It has to do with books. And numbers, somehow. It seems like a big milestone, but for what, I don't know! I'm getting goosebumps. When will it happen? Will it separate me from others or will it give me joy?

Wait. I can see the number implyed. It is... yes, it is 1 000. What can it mean???

  18. Yeah he has to be really wise+genious+clever to be able to do something like those books. I can't even imagine. It's kinda sexy how dedicated+committed he is to his novels. In a nonsexual way though. If that made any sense

I love the name of the group as well, it's brill  And I never imagined motowning with Deaver like you did!! You have one imaginative, overactive brain

The 1st Dexter book is Darkly Dreaming Dexter. And all them books have words starting with a D so if you think you might be confused by that do write the name down. Even I can't always remember the names. And yep how can we stand not reading Deaver immediately?? I know he has so many books but there are actually only six LR books left for us to read! How do we cope after that!!

  19. Oooh you finished it!! Wasn't it amazing!! :D I bet you didn't see it coming, the whodunnit in the end. Wow, amazing stuff!! I know what you mean about the Jodie character, I thought his and Stephen relationship was one of the best things in the book and I was gutted to find out what it was all about! Jeeez! I hope you leave your comments on the thread as well. I see you noticed the social group and joined already, goody! :smile2: The next one's The Empty Chair. I cannot wait to read that, but **** I have so many other books to read as well! The Vampire Lestat of course but also the Dexter books. I really need to figure out in which order to read all these books :irked:

Yeah I truly hope Lestat picks up soon!! Although I haven't even tried reading it today... :S

  20. Charm!

I'm thinking it might really be time to do that social group thing about Dexter like you suggested ages ago, whadda ya think ;) Go on! Lead us! :D

  21. OMG, you really did fancy that boy if you were into him for 9 years!! I can't imagine. And the way he treated you! That must've been so annoying. The awkwardness of teenage boys in romantic relations :irked: But that guy must've really liked you, for being so resilient in asking you out even after being dumped everytime. Have you seen him now that you're adults? It would be interesting to ask him what the heck he was thinking!!

Floozies  I know what you mean, there were many of those in my class. They didn't only have different BFs every month, they didn't mind going after each other's BFs! This one group of 4 girls in particular, they all dated these 2 boys in turn for 3 years! Some of them even ended up with those guys twice or even 3 times! That's just wrong on every level. Especially since I never had any luck with boys :irked: I was 17 when I had my first BF.

Now must stop ramble and quit harassing you with endless messages

  22. My Mayday was pretty quiet and relaxed with BF, we didn't do anything special this year but the students in his neighborhood started celebrating Mayday 2 weeks beforehand! When I arrived to his building there was this minisauna that could hold 1-2 people at a time, people were in and out of it and drunk as a skunk! There was this one lad who was totally naked except for his graduation cap and maybe socks, and he was peeing quite happily all over the place without using his hands for direction. You should've seen his face. There was this other naked lad behind him who'd found a waterhose and was nice enough to oblige the other naked guy with a bit of a hosing!

I finished Making Waves days ago and picked up Vampire Lestat. I'm struggling with it a bit  It just doesn't grip me like Interview with the Vampire did. But it's early days, I'm hoping it'll pick up!

  23. Hello!

I'm so pleased you finally had the time to carry on with The Coffin Dancer! It's a real pageturner isn't! Just you wait till you get the end, oh boy! :D I got the next 3 books this week and I can't wait to read them.

I'm glad that you presentation went well. I never understand those tasks when you first have to write something and get it marked and then you have to do the same thing only with double the word amount. It's like they want to mess with your head just for laughs. That's uni for you!

I'm an English major Swedish minor so practically all the presentations in uni were in a foreign language. But I don't speak Swedish nearly as well as English (in Finland we usually start English in 3rd grade and Swedish in 7th) so it was really intimidating especially as I hate doing presentations.

  24. Hiya!

I was browsing through horror&crime fiction books in play.com and I happened to notice that Let The Right One In was there on some special offer, only 2,99

  25. You know I can say the same thing about you, you're easily one of the bestest people here  You can stalk me anytime! :D
