  1. The film probably lost tons of potential readers it was so disappointing. And its so sad we probably won't get The Subtle Knife - I loved Will.
  2. Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett was good - especially as one of the main characters is a girl!
  3. I preferred Equal Rites and Mort, then sadly got put off by the wizards.... maybe I need to return to Discworld
  4. Hi Kookie

I'm loving the forum - just sad I can't access it from work!

  5. What do you think of Noughts & Crosses - thinking of getting it....

  6. Love your avatar ... sigh

  7. I have to watch it on the Sky + when hubby's out of the room.... Dean is just a little too much competition!
  8. I hate to say it but I'm going off GA a bit.... maybe it needs some big changes?? And where's Kevin McKidd got to???? I like him, and its about time Cristina had some fun
  9. Seem to be developing something of a minor obsession - just read Midnight Sun when I should really have been working! Love the bit in the first biology lesson where Edward is plotting how to kill as few people as possible! I must be warped
  10. Thanks Paula

    I'll have a go!

  11. Well, Twilight has been my guilty pleasure/secret for the last week (I really am too old for this!). I enjoyed the story, and remembering first love - oh if only that feeling lasted! Meyer's writing does leave a lot to be desired, though - all that staring and glaring, and lets not get to the repetitive descriptions of Edward's beauty (surely once or twice was enough?) But I am hooked! Read New Moon in 2 days, and oh joy Amazon's just delievered Eclipse & Breaking Dawn! Might not come up for air for a while....
  12. Hi Gyre

We seem to like a lot of the same stuff! How do I join the Supernatural group? No one else I know is into it (????)

  13. I loved it - even though there were some pretty disturbing parts - the Huntress, anyone? Reminded me of The Company of Wolves, which I loved as a teenager.... I must be a little bit warped
  14. Thought it was Fyodor Dostoevsky? Loved that book! Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen Far From the Madding Crowd - Thomas Hardy
  15. Hi Charm. Thanks for the welcome - am enjoying the forum immensely! See you around on the boards, Michelle x

  16. Everything from my fave books from childhood - Narnia! - to the classics I read at uni, the contemporary fiction my book group reads to my "guilty pleasure" thrillers and fantasies!
  17. All those free "Year of Reading" ones from the library - we've got loads in my house now!
  18. Kelley Armstrong has a new book out??? Cool - I want that too!
  19. Any kind of "celebrity" autobiography. And I also avoid (waiting for howls of derision) anything that looks vaguely chick lit-y (you know the type from the front cover photo & font!)
  20. Me too! It's CS Lewis, and Tamora Pierce for me. Plus my second childhood with JK Rowling!
  21. In my bag, beside my bed, on the arm of the sofa, on the table.... and stacked two deep on the shelves lining the walls of the kids' playroom: I so envy that library Nellie!
  22. I'm thanking the lord for Sky+ - am loving Little Dorrit!
  23. Is it just me or are they trying to make Sylar sympathetic to cash in on his impending mega-fame as ol' pointy ears Spock? Still can't beat Hiro Nakamura, though!
  24. ER is ending???? Bummer I do watch Gray's too - has Rose spoiled it for Meredith?? - but ER is the best.
