What really evil being can she be????
Hey - just remembered what happened in the finale - you don't think that was her coming, do you???
-
Yeah I was glad went Kate stopped appearing - she was so annoying!
Am I odd for liking Fred when she turned blue? I thought Angel was just getting really good when it got cancelled - the muppet episode anyone?
-
Great read - Jasper Fforde is always good fun, though I think I preferred the adventures of Miss Next. Still, looking forward to Jack's next outing as I'm sure these characters will develop further.

in no particular order....
Pride & Prejudice
His Dark Materials (is that cheating?)
Crime & Punishment
The Book of Lost Things
Notes from an Exhibition
-
All very exciting but have to admit I'm gutted there's no Bank Holiday episode to look forward to this month!
-
I did enjoy it - probably beacuse I'd already seen the film (pretty!)- but there were lines in there like (badly remembered) "we're just 3 for dinner, so dinner jackets are enough tonight", which just struck me as hilarious
-
Yes - Frost's Stopping by woods...
"but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep" oooh gives me goosebumps!
Also have a weakness for Yeats, He wishes for the cloths of heaven, sigh

Beautifully written, and so funny about the social niceties - anyone read Maurice?
-
Has anyone mentioned The Wasp Factory? A friend lent me all of Ian Banks' books but insisted I start with TWF, and I nearly gave up on him! (I did enjoy the other books when I got to them)
The description of the child in the hospital.....
Also, I've mentioned this one on another thread - The Pilo Family Circus. Scary clowns.... and one is in love with a plant..
-
I really liked the switching of voice between characters/chapters. Have to confess I did find the doctor's opening chapter a little hard going (just a wee bit self important?) It's been a while since I read it but I do remember being very moved by the parts concerning the "giant" (was that Francesco or Carlo?) Forgive me for not reading again, I remember tears...

Not sure if anyone's heard, but I just read that Castiel is about to sign on for season 5 and will be appearing in about 17 of the 22 eps
Happy days

Ooh I've just gone all giggly! I fell for Darcy when I read the book and then the beeb finished me off! Alas don't get a chance to see any of the more recent costumers as hubby's just not interested - so sad 'cos I hear Larkrise is great (as a completist I just can't jump in - from the first episode or not at all!)
-
So when do you think we'll see the inevitable sequel with its' new (almost new, Jake will still be in there) love triangle?
-
Definately worth trying - I remember my boyfriend reading over my shoulder just as I got to one of the "love" scenes in Bitten and being rather, shall we say, intrigued!
-
I loved the first 3 books, particularly Lestat although there were inconsistencies with Interview ( who was the old man Lestat claimed was his father?) I also read the Mayfair witch books but then went off Rice when she just seemed to be a little too in love with her own writing.... Still have unread copies of Armand and The Mummy! Maybe a return is due?

Snap, amazing book
Me too! I loved that when I was little, and The Book of Brownies also Blyton.
Hmmm horror .... I think it was called Inside my Feet and it was a school library book when I was about 8 or 9, and I remember my teacher saying it would give her nightmares.... All about a little boy who's family is carried off by a giant pair of boots - well it was pretty scary back then!
-
Hi there! Wow your English is definately better than my Polish:smile2:
-
Hi there! What are you reading?
-
must put it on my wish list.
Do! And Gone for Good was pretty good too:D
-
It was the demon in him, oh I am all worried x
Yes but was it just Dean still imagining things? Or was it really there?
-
Hubby's gone t'pub... probably crying into his beer....
-
Yes but will my ageing laptop cope....alas probably not:roll:

Being Human has been renewed for a second series.
yay! is this a spoiler that they don't all die though?
-
As for Sylar's Dad, I reckon he should be a cross-dresser, that should just about finish him off!
Genius - you should be on the script writing team

I too loved the book The Neverending Story, and as a result hated the film! Totally agree they shredded it.
If you liked that you might like The Book of Lost Things by John Connelly - I've raved about it on a few posts! A young boy finds himself in a world where fairy tales are real, though rather darker than the tales we grew up with.....
