  1. ROFL!! I might suggest that to them!
  2. Gaaah! I had to read that twice before I saw what you were getting at! I was, of course, referring to the cold, frozen watery type stuff, as supposed to anything else.
  3. LOL! You have unwittingly(?!) caused great offense . ICE = Institution of Civil Engineers I'm a chemical engineer I'll have you know IChemE = Institution of Chemical Engineers. The odd snowball fight would not go amiss though, and as chemical engineers we could manufacture our own snow.
  4. Ha ha! If only everyone thought like you Roxi!
  5. I've decided to leave the series for a while and move on to something else. I am currently reading the new Jack Frost book. So far I'm really enjoying it!
  6. We have a juicer and it's great, it allows you to get more variety. For example, we really like cucumber and grape juice, and apple, celery and grape juice. Both are really nice. We keep the pulp and bung it in casseroles, so you get the fibre too :-) Having said that, with Mr Nellie being a keen gardener, we tend to eat a lot of veg anyway, but the juicer is fun.
  7. Really? It's the spring onions isn't it? That just makes me sound weird... My Hubby grows them in the greenhouse, and they are so yummy... OK, now I think I will keep quiet about the spring onions! *toddles off to greenhouse*
  8. I have only just seen this thread, it's really interesting! So, lets see... 1. I met my husband whilst glamorously dressed in a hard hat and fireproof overalls 2. I am a Fellow Of The Institution Of Chemical Engineers 3. I always make a wish when I sneeze (my Gran told me to!) 4. I love spring onions 5. I am scared of frogs
  9. I do get hungry, but I don't want chocolate or crisps, I seem to crave healthy food... it said it was odd!
  10. I haven't read all of this thread, so apologies if someone has already talked about this. As some of you know I have MS and so take care with what I eat and my exercise to give me the best chance of keeping the MonSter under control. One thing I have found, and my husband has noticed it in himself too, is that if I do a little light exercise, even just 10 mins per day, I don't seem to crave sugary or fatty food. It's really weird, perhaps it's something to do with burning off my stress, natrual highs etc, but it really helps. I certainly am not doing huge amounts of exercise, a 20 min walk each lunchtime max, but it seems to help. Perhaps start with getting the exercise into your daily life, and then worry about the food after. If you try to do too much at once it might feel overwhelming. Good luck!
  11. I just checked on the Royal Mail website, and Airmail looks like the best option. Should be there by the weekend!
  12. You are very welcome, my pleasure. It's all packed up and I'll send it tomorrow. Heaven only knows how long it will take to get to you with the Royal Mail... It might be quicker for me to drive to Ireland and hand deliver it to you! ;-)
  13. I know everyone loves it, but I wasn't taken. There's no way I am going to read it again, so I like the idea it will go to a home where it will be loved!
  14. Do you want my copy? I was going to give it to the charity shop. I don't want anything for it. Let me know. Edit: I should mention it's like new, I don't break spines, fold down corners etc...
  15. Those are the sorts of pages, perhaps I just picked up a bad copy. :-)
  16. Has anyone read this? I picked it up randomly in a shop and liked the idea, but bizzarly was put off becuase the edges of the pages were black and it was coming off on my fingers like newspaper print. Now I am at home I don't think thats a good reason for not reading a book, and was wondering whether anyone would recommend it, seeing as I am trying to keep my new book purchases to a minimum!
  17. I've never tried to read it, but I sense it's the sort of book you need to read whilst reading "A Handy Guide To Kafka" alongside it!
  18. Wow! Good luck! I adore Pratchett too, but I am not sure I could do them back to back!
  19. Why do you think I did it on a forum! I hope I don't get hate mail now
  20. Do you lke this book then?
  21. I know I can still get books from elsewhere, but I was just a bit sad at loosing that shop. I knew the staff there and they gave great serverice.
  22. Ha ha! You just made my hubby and I laugh so much at your description of the books. Perhaps because I had read all the hype, I was hoping for so much more. It was a nice easy (and cheesey) read though.
  23. I stumbled across these books by accident and bought them on a whim, they are wonderful, I hope you enjoy them!
