  1. Hey Dan, hope the readings coming along okay. Just thought I'd drop you a message as I've left school today - which means more time to get this '34 books read' moving a little.
  2. Not sure what I'm having tonight, the surprise is all mine! aha.
  3. My word Kate, look at you go. I've not checked this for a while - not been online because of exams and whatnot - but I still see your showing no signs of stopping. 73. Wow, that's already double what I've managed. And do I see a slight decrease in the TBR pile. Aha, don't look now.
  4. Book-shops. <3
  5. Wow someone's back in action. Good to see you've got your mojo back.
  6. Welcome to the forum, I'm sure everyone is making you feel welcomed. By the way I love your username, terrific. Right, well I'll see you around.

Well done Andy Murry, terrific performance against Blake. Didn't get to watch a lot of it.. but there was one superb shot that I saw when our Andy was running fast up to the net, then delicately glanced the ball with a drop shot so that Blake couldn't get there. Great talent, would love to see him do well.
  8. Hey Navion my friend; welcome to the forum, although we all know you by now.
  9. As it's coming up to summer, just thought I'd re-post. I have to usually be careful with eating icecream and generally sweet things, because of my diabetes. However, when I'm allowed the odd treat I tend to swing towards a nice scoop of strawberry. It's always been my long time favourite. Or nowadays you can't go wrong with a while magnum.
  10. Hello and welcome to BCF. As you can see from my username, my name is Ben. It seems like your settling in well, which is understandable from how nice everyone is. Anyway, I think I commented on your reading thread. Welcome again.
  11. Okay, so judging by the comments on here, I seem to be worse than the majority with my TBR pile, I believe. At 84, I don't think that's too bad. One thing though that can be seen as a positive and negative when looking at this, is my age.. As I'm only 15 - nearly 16 - that gives me plenty of time to catch up. Also I read fast, reading a few books a week when I'm in flow. (Like I should be soon because of having the next 11 weeks off), so that will help. The thing is, just under 16 and a TBR like that is fairly substantial. We'll have to see whether it goes up or down as the years progress.
  12. Sounds interesting. I also have Labyrinth on TBR and with the reviews it has been getting, I think I'll be talking an interested in this book and Labyrinth.
  13. Haha, that joke about cleaning the house was brilliant! What a witty reply.
  14. Ahh I have a lot of favourite song lyrics! I love the lyrics from Viva La Vida - Coldplay, particularly these ones: I hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing. Roman cavalry choirs are singing. Be my mirror, my sword and shield, My missionaries in a foreign field. For some reason I can't explain, Once you'd gone there was never, Never an honest word, And that was when I ruled the world. Just love this song, something about the words I really like. Although there are plenty more songs out there that I love the lyrics to!
  15. Not sure if I've posted my thoughts on this before, but my opinion on books v.s. movies, never differs. Every time, it seems to be books for me. I feel that this is because when I read a book, I have my own characters, places and even voices in my own mind. Then say I watch a film, I'm always disappointed with how it turns out. I'm not sure if this would change with watching the film to it, before reading the book, I may have to check that out! I do however have one situation where I have so far preffered the film to the novel; and this is the Lord Of The Rings. I can't really judge yet, though, however, because I've only read The Hobbit so far. Although I really enjoyed the films, so the books will have to do a lot to beat it. Don't all beat me up on that one yet until I've read them all.
  16. You seem to have a good TBR list there, plenty of good choices to go for. Amongst them I spotted The Tales of Beedle the Bard. I read this - this year - and found it a nice little read. Although not as interesting as a full on novel (obviously because they're just fairytales), it is a nice little book to dip into and is very good as a nice light read if strapped for time. Also, I seem to have spotted some books from A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I read them not so long ago, and have to say I enjoyed them all! Some good story twists and a good plot that managed to keep me interested in buying the next installment. Judging by the fact the ones on your TBR are the one's later in the series, I imagine you've already read some of them, would love to know your thoughts. Anyway, good luck with the reading, enjoy.

    Your Age?

A slightly late Happy Birthday from me BookJumper. Hope you had a good one. Just realised it's only a month and 14 days until my long awaited 16th birthday now.
  18. Congratulations Sara.
  19. Ben

Lol, no problem. Hope you're okay. :)

  20. I was just saying thanks for entering, but might as well pop my name in there, I haven't read this one.
  21. Great competition Inver, I'm surprised no-one got it in the end!
  22. Thank you very much.
  23. Exactly my thoughts, that's why I'm not too sure it's worth the effort. There's no way I can compete with the posh lot, and those 'snobs' as you so rightly put it.
  24. Lol I'm just being logical. I'm sure there's smarter candidates and whatnot out there than me. Okay so I don't know.. but yeah. And I think it's
  25. But let's imagine that I actually applied, got through both interview stages, then got on the show. And then amazingly, I managed to win. Then your prize is apparently not a job.. so I would be able to continue my studies anyway. And there's the point of applying and see how it goes.. because it's unlikely I'd even get on the show so no point thinking so far ahead.
