  1. I love whodunnit's, great review Frankie, one to take note of for the fresh Wishlist I think..
  2. Thank you. And yes, organising your books to be read is great, gives you something to aim for and a sense of achievement ticking them off. Well, that's my opinion anyway.
  3. Thanks, I'll add it to the Wishlist. Well, actually, I don't have any on a Wishlist yet because I never make them. So it's a first one.
  4. Hmm, things are going slow but well with Someone Like You. I've read the first three short stories and so far I love all three so far. Fantastic just to dip into, it's great. A side of Roald Dahl's writing that I have never seen before.
  5. Yes, not exactly the easiest of tasks when they are so huge.
  6. Snakehead has now been reviewed here on the BCF Reviews blog. Also updated my TBR Pile, it now stands at a scary looking 97. Will have to try to lower purchases this year if I want to make a dent in that.
  7. Thank you, you lovely helpful moderators. So about these Roald Dahl short story collections, has anyone read any before?
  8. Thanks Kell, it makes sense, of course it does, I just sounded a bit short in my response. Sorry for that guys! I'm just thinking would it be better to change it to 'Ben's Reading 2010.' Then it doesn't share the other similarity with the other one. Not a problem.
  9. Hmm, I'm thinking this is probably the best kind of place to ask something that I was just thinking about, considering Kylie's the expert on lists. I already know that I read quite a lot, but have never bothered to try any challenges or lists of any sorts. What I was really wondering is what lists/challenges would be the best for me to try? I don't mind if it's an on-going or a yearly one, it doesn't make much difference. Thanks in advance!
  10. No it's fine, like I said it makes more sense, so change it to 'Ben's 2010 Reading.' Or something along those lines..
  11. Haha it confused me myself and I knew I hadn't made another thread.
  12. That's slightly irritating that I have to change mine and not the newest member of the forum, but of course that makes more sense.
  13. Of course I will girls. Couldn't see all this hype all the time without finding out what I'm missing on.
  14. Oh my gosh this is going to be incredibly confusing. The person with the username 'Benji' has his own, and I have mine which is this one. My username is 'Ben' not 'Benji', although that's what I usually name my thread titles/get people to call me.. thanks for the good wishes in my reading, though. Edit. - No problem! It does look a bit confusing, I wonder if we can sort something out. Thanks for the good luck on the 2010 reading, same too you!
  15. Started a collection of short stories by Roald Dahl today, the book is entitled Someone Like You and I have just read a few so far. They seem to be very good, well-written - of course - and will most likely be great to dip into when I get a spare few minutes, or read straight through because of the length of the stories in the book.
  16. Lol and what I meant was that I got confused by the thread title, as it is very similar to my own, as are our usernames..
  17. 3) Someone Like You. - Roald Dahl. Okay my third book of the year is going to be a collection of 15 short stories by the one and only Roald Dahl. Looks interesting, got them bought with six other Roald Dahl books at Christmas and I'm looking forward to these.. Synopsis. Try a refreshing 'Dip in the Pool' and savour the delights of 'Skin', follow 'Galloping Foxley' and sample a little 'Poison'. This collection, one of Roald Dahl's earliest, is guaranteed to appeal to Someone Like You. In the opening story, 'Taste', the stakes of a dinner-party bet reach distasteful levels and a wife serves up new dish in 'Lamb to the Slaughter', which goes down well with the boys in blue. Layers of deceit are stripped away in 'Nunc Dimittis', but what is revealed is far from honest. Meanwhile the 'Man from the South' questions whether you really do need the little finger on your left hand..? Vendettas and desperate quests, bitter memories and sordid fantasies thwarted - here are fifteen reasons why Roald Dahl is the master of the short story. Started: 05/01/10 Finished:
  18. I just got well confused.
  19. Welcome to the forum!
  20. You have a good looking TBR pile there, some good books that I have enjoyed and that you should also. Looking forward to your thoughts/reviews.
  21. Thank you. I have to add that your wishlist contains some fantastic books. Let me know what you think of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. I absolutely loved it.
  22. That made me chuckle so much! I'm watching a car skidding and sliding outside at the moment, hopefully they don't crash.
  23. Thanks Charm, I have heard from a few others that it is quite good as well, so I think I'll make it one to read this year.
  24. Dan! Long time no speak, how are you? Good luck with the reading anyway in 2010.
