  6. Anything by Jacqueline Wilson (I would take one of her books out every library visit when I was younger). I also recall having The Baby Sitter Club and The Sleepover Club books. Also the occasional Roald Dahl.
  7. 55. That's Another Story - Julie Walters Synopsis from Waterstones: Julie Walters has been described as the nation's most popular actress and comedienne. Born in fifties Birmingham, daughter of an Irish Catholic mother, Julie was sent to a convent school. 8. I totally agree with you there I cannot stand the smell of fruit teas etc they make me feel sick. I much prefer a normal cup of tea strong with 3 sugars (terrible I know) and quite milky (it has to be semi-skimmed milk and organic if possible). I very rarely drink tea apart from in the winter when I have nearly everyday (I love snuggling up in bed with a book and a cuppa )
  9. I don't think there is a particular person or thing that inspired me to read. I do remember that as a youngster my parents would buy me the odd book now and again (I used to love The Baby Sitters Club and The Sleepover Club books). Both my parents read and when I was about 10 and we moved they used to take me and my two younger sister's to the local library every Saturday morning so I guess you could say they did encourage us to read by taking us. It was only when I was 16 and started college that I got into reading big time (I was studying English I had various texts that needed to be read. I also read a few on the suggested reading list which got me reading more). My love of reading was the main reasoning behind my choosing to do English and university as I just saw it as an excuse to read all the time .
  10. Believe me Rawr it was very annoying. My friend nearly battered him on the dancefloor and then she dragged us out of the club so I was not best pleased my night was ruined It also bugs me when you're out in town and random strangers who are a bit tipsy start getting rather cocky and cheeky - I just feel like giving them a good slap .
  11. I just found something else that really bugs me: dirty old men in clubs looking down your top and being really rude, disrespectful and assuming just because you have breasts it means your "up for a laugh" - not thanks mate .

  14. 53. Marley And Me - John Grogan Synopsis from Waterstones: John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they bought home Marley, a wiggly yellow fur ball of a puppy. Life would never be the same. Marley quickly grew into a barrelling, ninety-seven pound steamroller of a Labrador retriever, a dog like no other. He crashed through screen doors, gouged through drywall, flung drool on guests, stole women's undergarments, and ate nearly everything he could get his mouth around, including couches and fine jewellery. Obedience school did no good - Marley was expelled. And yet Marley's heart was pure. Just as he joyfully refused any limits on his behaviour, his love and loyalty were boundless, too. The heartwarming and unforgettable story of a family in the making and the wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life. 16. 52. The Boleyn Inheritance - Philippa Gregory Synopsis from Waterstones: From the bestselling author of 'The Other Boleyn Girl' comes a wonderfully atmospheric evocation of the court of Henry VIII, and the one woman who destroyed two of his queens. The year is 1539 and the court of Henry VIII is increasingly fearful at the moods of the ageing sick king. With only a baby in the cradle for an heir, Henry has to take another wife and the dangerous prize of the crown of England is won by Anne of Cleves. She has her own good reasons for agreeing to marry a man old enough to be her father, in a country where to her both language and habits are foreign. Although fascinated by the glamour of her new surroundings, she senses a trap closing around her. Katherine is confident that she can follow in the steps of her cousin Anne Boleyn to dazzle her way to the throne but her kinswoman Jane Boleyn, haunted by the past, knows that Anne's path led to Tower Green and to an adulterer's death. The story of these three young women, trying to make their own way through the most volatile court in Europe at a time of religious upheaval and political uncertainty, is Philippa Gregory's most compelling novel yet.
