Hello Jessi and a warm welcome
  13. It was still very cool in the early summer evening;the fresh, clean air he breathed into his lungs felt good. Rabbit Proof Fence-Doris Pilkington
  14. He has written The Girl Who Played With Fire and a new one just out in hardback called The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest which I will be reading as soon as I can get a copy that isn't too expensive!
  15. Spotted The Reader in a charity shop last Friday,so I'm all set for October's reading circle.
  16. I am using a magnetic Winnie the Pooh at the moment (so cute). The magnetic ones are so practical and like someone else pointed out they don't drop out like the more flimsy ones. However I do have a bit of an urge to collect the leather ones when I am on holiday and have well ......more than I should have.
  17. Oh I so agree with you :irked:
  18. Didn't enjoy it at all and switched off before I started throwing things at the box! I would add that I love the book:)
  19. Die for Me Scream for Me Kill for Me These are a series with Daniel Vartanian so it is quite a good idea to read them in sequence, but not vital as Karen Rose does update the story so you know what has happened previously.I think the rest of her books are stand alone novels.I hope you enjoy your new book Purple Princess:)
  20. I soooo agree with you, I have been disappointed many times by over hyped up books for example things like The Lovely Bones,Time Traveler's Wife and Dan Brown to name but a few.I love to browse and have indeed found some little gems that way.Thankfully we all have very different taste when it comes to choosing books so each to their own and happy reading:D
  21. I read The Behaviour of Moths some time ago,and thought it was well written if a little slow off the mark. The characters are dysfunctional but fascinating and I thought the ending was interesting and not quite what I was expecting.
  22. A Passage to India is one of my favourite books. It is one of those times that the film of the book also worked really well.
  23. I also have a copy of this book in one of my bookcases but have never quite got round to reading it.Will put it in my TBR pile.
  24. I've read Scream for Me and really enjoyed it,so much so that I have since bought eight more of her books some of which I had to get from America.Hopefully they will be as good as that one otherwise I'll have egg on my face!
  25. If I'm tempted to buy two books in Waterstones 3 for 2 the third book is usually something by an author I'm not familiar with.Have got a few little gems like that. Charity shops are also a good affordable way to try out authors.
