I love the colors! It makes me think of spring flowers. :)

  2. I love the colors you've chosen!

  3. I don't know the actual number of books I've read, but I've had a pretty good start to the year, despite all the school reading I've had to do. Some of the highlights so far for 2008 are: Siddhartha by Herman Hesse The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen Persuasion by Jane Austen A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula Le Guin La Vagabonde by Colette
  4. Hi Talisman! You need to get some funky colors up here to brighten up your day! :)

  5. Your profile is so pretty! Did you put an image here behind it?

  6. Thanks, Michelle! I'm still working on my "All About Me" thread. :)

  7. I love the purple, Louise!!

I like the colors you've chosen here!

  9. You're all going to think I'm awful, by Fanny is one of my least favorite heroines. Her and Emma. To me, she's just to weak and preachy.
  10. yeah, I went kind of crazy with the colors. It's like a weird acid trip! I'm gonna calm them down a bit.

  11. Can I ask a stupid question? What are rom coms? Romantic Comedies? I don't understand this shorthand.

    hello

    Welcome to the forum, Kelly!
  13. I have a great pile of all different kinds of books waiting for me, so lately I haven't had a problem choosing the next one. I've just had a problem finishing the books I've already started!
  14. I love Nicholas Nickleby! I even dreamed about it last night!
  15. If I'm interested enough, and if it's a series, I sometimes will read the sample chapter included in the book. It sort of whets my appetite for the next book!
  16. Well, Mr. Stark, your name is the same as my favorite villain, George Stark from The Dark Half, my favorite Stephen King book after The Stand. I know he's evil, but at the same time, his motivation is only to survive, just like the rest of us. My favorite good guy is Sam Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings. I also like Bilbo in The Hobbit. My favorite heroes and heroines are always simple, honest, and funny. Another favorite is Aloysius Pendergast from the novels by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. He's a brilliant FBI agent who never fails t surprise me!!
  17. Oh lord...I ate too much pizza! But my boyfriend made me do it! Oh, who am I kidding? I'm a slave to this stuff.
  18. I am the main reader in my house, which only includes my boyfriend and me. He likes to read, he just hasn't had the time for it for a long time. Once school gets out, he usually wants to stay away from books for awhile. I was also the main reader when I was growing up. My parents read for fun, but I would spend whole summers doing nothing but reading. My mom says I was born with a book in my hand. My brothers like to read a bit more now, and I got my older brother into Tolkien, and he reads biographies of jazz musicians and composers.
  19. I'll often start with a book in the middle of a series, but if I find that I really like it, I'll start over with the first book.
  20. PIZZA!!!
  21. I like to bake the sweet potato just by itself, and then I make a sauce by heating up some orange juice and honey in a saucepan, with a pinch each of cinnamon and nutmeg. Delicious!!
  22. I've read most of my books more than once. My favorite book, The Lord of the Rings, I've read about 4 times. Some of my oldest favorites, like Jurassic Park, I've read maybe 5 or 6 times. I actually find that I enjoy the book in a different way each time I read it.
  23. My reviews vary in length, but the one I wrote for ER was really long, probably around 220 words. But I don't think it made any difference. I think it was the fact that I wrote a review for it.
  24. To submit the reviews on LT, just click on the Edit Book Information icon for the book you want. Then when you get there, just click Edit, and you should be able to post up and save your review. Let me know if this doesn't make sense.
  25. I won again! I'm getting something called Devil's Cape by Rob Rogers. Here's the Amazon link. It looks really good, so I hope it comes soon!
