  1. I enjoyed reading this last year - I can't remember much about it now .
  2. Did you request Kylie? I have requested 2 - not a great deal for UK either this time
  3. Niamh shouts - she doesn't sing and her voice is harsh to go with her harsh face . The one who is standing out for me - not very far ahead of the rest is Sam. Jessie - the Judy Garland song was ghastly and they said it was the best in the series Ashley - who should have gone weeks ago did a great version of 'Big Spender' and got mediocre responses. Bah! Sack them all!
  4. Home made Broccoli soup with baguette
  5. Started 'The Battle for Big School' by Sarah Tucker. This caught my eye in the Hospice shop as I heard the author interviewd last year on local radio. Of interest because I have been through the process fairly recently and know how vile it is. Looks to be very light, quick reading.
  6. I missed that one Judy - I remember reading Catherine Storr books
  7. I missed the last 2 weeks so just getting back into it. I think the right person went.
  8. Finished 'South of the River' by Blake Morrison. You can find my review on BCF reviews (I still don't know how to do the linking thing ). A great epic read. Now for something light and frivolous
  9. I have read Sheila O'Flanagan a long time ago - it was ok. Chris Manby too - some of the early ones. Ever tried Jane Green?
  10. You really like Sophie Kinsella
  11. Marian Keyes out of that lot would be my choice
  12. Keisha should not have gone tonight - she is a much better singer than a lot of them - who keeps voting for Ashley?
  13. I have my eye on this as another Trollope fan. I will read it when out in paperback or from library - thanks for review
  14. will defo have a look - I think our tastes are similar - thanks for that
  15. I have a card but didn't know about magazine - will get one later this week - thanks Janet
  16. I was very surprised too - Ashley should have gone a while ago, hard faced and harsh voice. Maybe ok on the casting couch?
  17. I'm with Esiotrot - I don't read them because I hate to start a book and not finish it and because I feel duped that the book I am reading finished sooner than it should have 9but not really). If yo get my drift.
  18. Not even 'There's a Wocket in my Pocket?'
  19. Hi Laura - good to see you back. I am reading said 'South of the River' about 70 pages in and really liking it although it takes some getting into and the print is very small for my old eyes!!
  20. I can't think of a book that made me laugh out loud. But then I used to watch 'Tom and Jerry' stony faced according to my parents.
  21. I read most on holiday away from home lounging in the shade now the children are old enough to amuse themselves (hooray!)
  22. I am not the only reader in my house. Michael my husband reads most days - I would say he is a more serious reader of serious books. My son Philip reads regularly, I couldn't believe he got through 'Mein Kampf' last year aged 14. He has read 'Lord of the Rings', and all of Harry Potter but his main love is Robert Muchamore's 'Cherub' series for which he is a mod on the Cherub Forum. Daughter reads sporadically. 'Chav' series by Grace Dent being the current favourite. Our bookshelves in all our rooms creak with the weight!
  23. You're right Mia - no one really standing out - the last singer tonight was the best and I can't remember her name
  24. Chinese before watching Chinese Elvis
