My original list still stands, although I've since bought another DH Lawrence book, Kangaroo, which piqued my interest because it's set in Australia. I'd probably add Veronica Roth, James Dashner and Cornelia Funke to the list.

I agree with all of this (but I try to avoid broken spines!) However, if I'm going out and need to take my iPad with me, I sometimes leave my book at home to save a bit of weight. I don't have anything against e-readers personally, but I'll always prefer physical books. Wow, you don't do things by halves!

Great challenge, Willoyd! I'll be following it with interest, especially as about a dozen of them are on my TBR pile.

George Martin (The Beatles' producer, not the author) has passed away at age 90. Rest in peace.

I've had a bit of a reading 'block' with Strangers on a Train. I was enjoying what I was reading, but hadn't gone much beyond 20 pages in about a month. I finally set some time aside to read a chunk of it, and now I'm finally on track. I'm over halfway through the book and really enjoying it. I've also ordered about half a dozen books online.

I've missed seeing you around the forum Paula. Glad to have you back! I love reading your reviews.

I was so embarrassed for Lorelai in that episode! I love it when Sookie tells her the next day about all the things she said and did.
-
Lots of great reviews, Janet.

Did you skim the chapters where she describes the characters and the club? Those chapters were always so annoying! You didn't really need reminding in book 60 who they all were, and anyone silly enough to start a series at book 60 doesn't deserve to know.

The Cat Empire's new album: Rising with the Sun.

I watched the newest episodes of The Walking Dead and Girls. About to watch The Good Wife. Monday is my favourite day in terms of TV viewing.
-
Sounds like a good plan. I definitely think your mojo will come running back to you. Have fun dog sitting!

Great review of A Fine Balance! I guess it's another one for the wishlist.

Cool! I haven't had much time for reading lately, but I did manage about 50 pages of Strangers on a Train in one sitting.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Gaia.

Blasphemy! Ghostbusters is a classic! I rather like the look of the remake. It's not one I would go to see at the movies, but I'll definitely watch it one day.

Thanks Athena. We've had a few cooler days (early 30s), but it's going to stay around the mid 30s for at least the next week, by the look of it. I'm pretty well over summer now! Bring on the cooler weather! The things I do for books! I've just spent several hours rearranging the fiction books in my library. The room isn't quite photo-ready yet, but it's looking the best it has in at least a couple of years, so I'm very happy. I need to finish rearranging the W-Z books (which have spilled over into another room), but I'll do that another time. Once I've reorganised the non-fiction shelves, which won't take very long, I'll finally be able to post some up-to-date pics of my library.

Wow, that looks amazing!

Poirot is being shown on TV over here, but I refuse to watch the episodes of any books I haven't read yet (which is most of them).

I have finished the book, and of course I didn't foresee who did it. Another excellent Christie!
-
I bet I can't guess it either! I'm terrible at guessing, so I usually don't bother (that, or I guess everyone at some point, so then I can't actually be wrong ). Over halfway through the book now.

Thanks Janet! It is indeed gorgeous. I'm about 1/3 of the way through The ABC Murders.

Thanks Little Pixie. Yeah, she's adorable. I'd like to read the Carbonel sequels one day. It was a lovely book. Thanks Kay! I thought you'd be pleased with those ones. I was particularly happy to find Arthur & George, and it's a really nice edition too. I must have missed (or forgotten) that piece of trivia about JK Rowling and Decca! How cool! I'm very pleased indeed with the Christies. I have enough to keep me going for quite a while now! I've been needing to do a big clean up and reshuffle of my books for a while (more so since the bookfair), so I finally got things going last night. I went around the house and gathered up any strays, then emptied a few shelves so I can shuffle everything along. Unfortunately we're having quite hot weather at the moment and it's not pleasant being upstairs (where the books are) for very long, so I'll just be doing a bit here and there. I'm a night owl and was doing all this in the coolest part of the night, but it was still very warm, so I retired to bed as the sun was coming up and read a few chapters of The ABC Murders. It's 41 degrees outside today, and I usually wouldn't even consider walking out the front door in such weather, but I missed a book delivery so of course I had to go out and rescue them from the post office. I received Chris Hadfield's An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth and John Hersey's Hiroshima. Then I came home to an email saying the other part of my order has been dispatched, so tomorrow I should receive Millie Marotta's new colouring book, Wild Savannah.

I'm hoping to watch the Scorch Trials soon. I didn't think much of the books, but I'm still curious to see how they translate to the screen. Ooh, it's been ages since I watched Romy and Michelle! It's a good one. I remember a bit of Cowboys and Aliens. I think I quite enjoyed it, although I wasn't expecting to. I'll have to watch that one again one day.

Aw, come on, you can't both say that and not provide a link to the cover so we can see it too! Pretty please? It's 41 degrees outside today, and I usually wouldn't even consider walking out the front door in such weather, but I missed a book delivery so of course I had to go out and rescue them from the post office. I received Chris Hadfield's An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth and John Hersey's Hiroshima.
