  1. i didn't mind labyrinth. but it's one of those books that hasn't left a great impression one way or another
  2. i'm with the OP about this pile of poop never have i been so disappointed by a book. it started well, but then wandered in and out of the realms if ridiculousness. i read it ages ago so can't remember the details very clearly, but having read the OP, i found myself nodding along with the whole post nice cover though had i 'known' TTW was supposed to be the 'next lovely bones' i'd have missed out on the best book i've read in recent years which has placed itself right in my top three
  3. i've not read any stephen king in years. i kind of got fed up of his formulaic plots (guy comes to town/meets girl/romance ensues/guy saves town) but did enjoy them for a long time. i think 'needful things' is the one that creeped me out the most (along with 'it', of course, but i'm not overfond of clowns anyway)
  4. i found the site mentioned on another forum that i had just joined and i posted about it on the site i 'live' on and a few from there have joined, some have even posted
  5. it's firmly on my list. i was thinking of reading it whilst reading the historian, but since reading this thread, i most certainly will i love links in things too - as long as they don't rely too much on my memory, which obviously this won't
  6. i haven't. i'm generally not a fan of gothic/horror on the whole. however, i'm seriously considering it now, but may wait a while as i like to 'mix it up' so to speak
  7. have just finished this and so now feel able to read the thread comments: now i've finished it, i'd better change my 'currently reading'. after such a heavy book, i've opted for something very light which i generally do. oh, and sorry for dragging the thread back to the top - us noobs eh
  8. hi again Michelle and thanks for the reply. i'm sure i'll find my way around it all in time
  9. ah. that's what i tried to do (i'm VERY used to forum software). i'm guessing it doesn't show in the post until you post it then?
  10. i read the book many years ago it's quite light and very easy to read. to be honest, from my hazy memory, i'm not sure it offers more than the film. it goes against the grain for me to say that too as i rarely read books i've seen the film to or vice versa as i so often end up disappointed. the only change really is that it is much more evident what it is holly does for a living
  11. 'the mephisto club' is on amazon as a hardback *nods* http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mephisto-Club-Tess-Gerritsen/dp/0739326244/sr=1-1/qid=1160721732/ref=pd_bowtega_1/026-8687815-0834848?ie=UTF8&s=books (sorry about the huge URL. i tried to bury it in the post but seems i'm not allowed on here for some reason)
