Hi there ~
Welcome to the forum!

My daughter has read this book until the pages in her copy fell out. I tried to get through it, but was unable to. However, due to some research I have to do, I'm going to pick it up again.
I like reading WHY everyone enjoys it so much, and will look for these qualities as I endeavor a second effort.

Thank you for the review! I posted it on the Heavenly website. KW aka Jennifer Laurens

The Island of Dr Moreau was a great read, as was The Time Machine. The latter, however, was too short, and more of a social commentary - I actually much prefer the film.
I've almost finished the 2nd book in the Forgotten Legion series, which is another good, easy read. I've also started The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, which I think I'm going to love.
I loved the Time Machine, too

Stephenie Meyer particularly likes the word 'chagrin', it appears loads in the Twilight saga
impossibly
amazingly
regrettably
an LY word, actually - she tends to overuse.

The publishing industry needs a major correction anyhow -- advances are so far out of hand ( like fees paid to A-list actors ) it's out of whack.

Urban Outfitters (one of my FAVORITE stores) always has a lot of great bookish things.
I agree!

I've had to change two covers. The changes made the books triple in sales. It's amazing how one image can appeal to some, and another image appeals to someone else.
I blogged about it here.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
in Non Fiction

I read this and saw the DVD and came to the conclusion that "the secret" - tho positive - does not apply to everyone in the monetary sense ( the most prominent sales point of the peice ) I mean, a villiager in Kumbai can utelize "the secret" all he wants, but he's never going to morph from the forest to the city where financial opportunities await to carry him into abundant living.
