  1. I'm not sure the effect will be as tastey w/o Nestles, but...everywhere I go I'm asked to bring a batch of my choc chip cookies. I know, I know, just choc chip cookies. But adding a little more flour takes theses babies from good to super. Recipie: 1 c. soft butter 1 c. dk brown sugar 3/4 c. gran sugar 1 Tb real vanilla Cream well. Add 2 large eggs, cream again. 2 3/4 + 1 Tb flour 1 tsp bak soda 1/2 tsp salt Add to creamed mix Add 1 3/4 cups semi sweet Nestles chips and 1 cup walnuts Put large golf-ball sized balls on baking sheet allowing plenty of room for spread. Bake 11-15 min or until done at 350. The key is the extra flour. It makes them stand up higher and spread less. The larger size makes them look gourment, like you bought them from Mrs. Feilds or some other such place. Let me know how they cook up over there!
  2. Okay...I guess....you twisted my arm...<wink>

  9. It comes down to that old industry word, "subjective" ...I guess, as a writer, I'm somewhat jaded.I'm so darned particular now, it's crippling!
  10. After being a faithful Nora Roberts fan for years and seeing her stories become stale and more importantly, overwritten, I can't bring myself to buy any of her new stuff. I do, however, continue to read her old works. She was an incredible craftsman: Honest Illusions being her most impeccable work to date.
  11. Anybody else reading this? I'm 25 pages into it and yawning, supplementing my reads with gallons of Pepsi. Is this something that warms up as you go or is it hopeless???? Advise please.

Drama. Exotic locale. Intense situations. Deeply woven characters. And all of this simply builds and builds in this war torn part of the world in such a way that your eyes are opened and you are unable to stop visualizing and thinking about these characters and their lives. I was so relieved to find out that they are going to make a movie out of it. I can't wait to see it! Hope you enjoy it. Tell me your feelings on it when you're finished.
  17. Thanks, Michelle. I'll check it out. I've asked a lot of people this question and I never get the same book title from any two people -- he must have a lot of books that are good.
