  1. I've never watched Spooks before, but I've started watching this series purely because Richard Armitage is now in it (and I fancy him! :D ). It wasn't bad, I quite enjoyed it. The only trouble is I don't know the back stories of any of the characters. :) I gather that Ros is very cold (is that an act?) and had a thing with Adam (or wanted to). The other girl - she'd had some kind of traumatic experience? Maybe I'll find a website when I've more time and read up on it.

  2. Yay! Mark has gone! As John (undeservedly) went through, I wanted him to go as he was the next worst. So I'm pleased with that, and pleased that Heather wasn't in the dance-off again, as she wasn't that bad.

I'm not sure about next week's dances Stephanie - I was just walking out the room when I thought I heard Brucie say something about everyone doing a different dance next week. I could be wrong, but if that's true it's a bit bizarre.

  3. Those singers are getting worse. After murdering the Kaiser Chiefs song last week, they did the same to REM's Everybody Hurts. Awful. It put me off the dancing.

Strange night tonight... The paso doble is my favourite, but no-one ever does it really well. I thought Andrew did better than usual, and I liked Jodie's attack in the paso. Cheri had very good arms in the paso, but not enough drama. I liked Austin's waltz, and Tom's, though it got panned by the judges. John is very poor - his paso consisted of marching forwards and backwards!! But at least he didn't smile through it.

And was it just me, or was Len in a weird, very narky mood tonight? He really peed off Arlene, who turned her back on him at one point!

Loved Tess's faux pas when she said to the pro dancer (can't remember who) "Stop playing with yourself!" when he kept rubbing his chest! Everyone was laughing and Brendan was in hysterics, then she realised what she'd said!

  4. I'm starting to not really enjoy this series. :D I found last night's episode quite boring. I too am sick of the whole present/future thing - I think it's overused and there's too much shown of the future. It used to just be a tantalising glimpse of how things could turn out, but now it seems as though half of it's set there.

There's too much on the Petrellis (who I've never really liked) and not enough on other characters. Where's Micah's cousin(?) for example? I can't remember her name, but she was the one who could watch something and then be able to do it, like kung fu or cooking. She was really sweet and I liked her ability. The whole thing's getting a bit stale for me.

  5. .....but what has happened to the dragon...thought it was gonna be in it every week!!

Er... I was too busy ogling Lancelot to notice the absence of the dragon!! :D

He was Isaac Mendes in the 1st season of Heroes...

Really?! I thought the name seemed familiar but I never realised it was him... He seems much more attractive as Sir Lancelot, cos I never fancied him in Heroes! :D

  6. Beef, I tend to agree with your reasoning! :welcome:

Well, that was a nasty opening to an episode, that evil Angela Petrelli feeding that poor woman to Sylar. Charming. Obviously her power wasn't impressive enough.

I wasn't that keen on this episode. The bit with Claire and her mother in the container - most of the time I couldn't make out what was being said. I got that her mum was trying to make her be honest about why she wanted to fight, but I didn't hear Claire's reason clearly because of all the panting and heavy breathing (due to the heat in the container, obviously, rather than all the watching males :006: ). Can anyone enlighten me?

Anyway, nothing much else has stuck in my memory, so it can't have been that good IMO. Hope the next one is better!

  7. What do you all think Betty's decision was? I think she went to Henry, and the plane flying over at the end was to make you think she'd gone with Gio. Personally, I think she's in a lose-lose situation - I can't stand either of them! I've never liked Gio, and I've gone right off Henry.

It was an OK episode, but kind of depressing. I felt so sorry for Daniel, ousted by his own sister. :006: To be honest, I wish Betty and Daniel would get together!

Funniest bit was when Naomi Campbell took out her mobile phone and everyone ducked! I also liked the flashback to High School PE and the "human shield" thing (cruel, but funny).

I'm looking forward to this returning next year. :welcome:

  8. Can I just say - Sir Lancelot!! Mmmm. :welcome: I thought he was going to be a regular character - I was gutted when he rode off at the end. Still, I think he might be back.

I suppose I'd better comment on the rest of the episode! Another good one - the griffin was well done, and I liked the discussion of the unfairness about the rules governing who could be a knight. King Uther is an utter tosspot and an idiot to boot: Lancelot just saved his only son's life, so he rewards him by throwing him in the dungeon because he lied about being noble. That's gratitude for you. ;) Then he says later about the rules being wrong - hello, you're the KING. Why not change the rules?! :D I really hate this character. :006:

Anyway, I enjoyed this episode. And did I mention that Sir Lancelot was absolutely gorgeous?! ;)

  9. I agree Janet! Everyone goes on about his lovely pecs but I think they look awful. He has a very strange body shape.

Well, I was rather underwhelmed tonight, but the American Smooth and Samba are not my favourite dances. I was bored by quite a lot of the performances. Jodie Kidd was surprisingly good. I thought Tom was the best of the night. Cherie, who I usually like, I found quite boring. Rachel Stevens - I want to like her, and I think her dancing is technically good, but there's something missing from her performance, some kind of sparkle (like Alesha had) that she is lacking.

John Sergeant - oh dear, what can I say? His samba looked like a waltz!! He just never speeded up. As we thought, he can't do the faster dances. Don was not good either. I've never known an actor with such a complete lack of facial expressions. And although the judges raved over Lisa's dance, I wasn't impressed. Also, I didn't think Heather was as bad as they said. I felt sorry for her, because they didn't say one positive thing to her, and they could have done.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow, cos I think there's going to be a paso doble performed, and that's my favourite dance! :welcome:

  10. Following on from the 'I Remember this' thread, does anyone remember Chocolate Tarmac from school? Oooh, it was fantata! All chocolatey and gooey.

At my school we either had it with pink custard or green, peppermint flavoured custard. Yum!

Is this the rock hard, crumbly chocolate pudding? I used to love that! We had ours with chocolate custard. Mmm. :welcome:

  11. Lisa. My opinions on Lisa aren't very good because I hate Brendan. The judges were positive to him tonight and he was still miserable and unhappy with the comments.

I hate Brendan too! He is like a sulky child. But it is his total arrogance that I really hate. I'm sure he believes that no-one is as good a dancer as he is (and he includes all the other professionals in that).

Although Jessie was awful' date=' I did feel sorry for her as she was so upset.[/quote']

I felt sorry for her when she cried too, but with the comments about the sympathy vote, the cynic in me is wondering if that's why she cried. Hmm.

Jessie is not a dancer, she is too heavy-footed and graceless. Neither is Jodie, she is rather clumsy. Cherie is extremely elegant, but I believe she has done ballet training in the past? That would explain her gracefulness.

  12. I've seen this advertised a lot and it looks great. It's probably the kind of show I'd love because I think it's by the same people behind Alias and Lost both of which I'm completely addicted to, however I don't have access to the channel it's shown on so unfortunately I'm missing out. At least for the time being anyway.

Same here, Karen! :17: (Roll on Oct 20th when I can finally buy the DVD of Lost 4 and see what I've been missing out on!)

  13. Waaay too much Gio in tonight's episode - I really can't take to him at all. Unfortunately, it looks like they might be getting together. :17: I don't think it was one of the best episodes this week.

It's the last episode on Friday in the UK. :P

  14. I thought Cherie and Rachel were easily the best tonight. The rest were pretty rubbish (but I'm not at all keen on the rumba). Lisa did her rumba much better in training, from what I've seen, so she was a bit disappointing.

The boys' dance was appalling! It seemed like a complete mess to me.

To be honest, I'm not so keen on the early weeks when the male and female celebs dance separately; I prefer it when they're competing together.

  15. I take back my comment that Anthony Head's character is a bit of a git - he is a complete and utter :17: ! Did you see him in this week's episode? Arthur had gone to all that trouble to get the flower for the antidote, and begged his father to give it to Gaius, and he just callously crumpled it up and threw it away! And then chucked his own son in jail for a week into the bargain. :D

I really am liking this series. I was prepared for it to be silly, but it's actually very good. I love the way Arthur pretends not to care about Merlin when he really does - sweet! :P

But never mind that - did you see the trailer for next week, and more specifically, Lancelot?! Oh my god, he is gorgeous!! Another reason to keep watching! :D

  16. I can't help feeling you've got it in for me .....

Ah Roland, it was all so well set up for Beef and he missed it. :17:

My guilty pleasure would be eating chocolate and reading at the same time, preferably Maltesers. Ooh, that's just reminded me that I've bought my first Wispa today! That's not going to last long...

I too love sprouts, but I don't think I would call them a guilty pleasure!

  17. I like that one Charm! :17:

    Some ones I saw today...

Q: What's the difference between a merchant banker and a pigeon?

A: A pigeon can still put a deposit on a Ferrari.

Q: What's the definition of optimism?

A: A banker ironing five shirts on a Sunday evening.

A man goes to the doctor.

"Doctor, doctor, I've got a lettuce growing in my ear! What's wrong with me?"

The doctor takes a look. "I'm afraid that's just the tip of the iceberg."

  18. Ooh, that was a good episode! Major revelation at the end... I can see that, they're both evil enough to be related...

Absolutely hilarious bit with Parkman and the turtle! But that mysterious African guy seems to know a lot about things.

Felt sorry for poor Elle - I've always found her slightly irritating, but she finds her dad dead and then gets the sack... Not a good day at the office. It's not as if she could help blowing all the fuses at the facility - I don't suppose you have much control over things when your head is being sliced open. :D

Not liking Hiro not trusting Ando. I can understood why, but their friendship is one of the things I like.

Question about Claire: if she cannot die, why has she aged to the age of teenager? Will she continue ageing until she is a pensioner and then live forever? Or will she stay where she is, which doesn't make sense when she has aged 17/18 years so far. :welcome2: My head hurts.

Can't wait for the next episode! :D
