  1. Masochism?
  2. hot, black tea.
  3. I'd not mind getting my TBR down to 700. Oy. Be. Strong! heh
  4. Ohhhhh...thanks for the link!
  5. LOL, no I didn't mean it that way!! I love to see the variety on this board.
  6. The Wicked Day is the 4th and last Merlin book. It follows the Merlin Trilogy, which includes The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills, and The Last Enchantment. The Wicked Day is my least favorite as it doesn't have much of Merlin in it, and, not to give any spoilers, but is The End. So to speak. It would not be overstating to say I loved, loved, loved the Trilogy, itself.
  7. On DVD we've begun watching the second season of Nikita. The stories are becoming more complicated, IOW, better! I'm liking this series.
  8. I should add that the diet is two weeks old, and going strong. Treadmill is on and off as my back has been wonky again, but with the back brace it is much easier. Still only 5 pounds off, and husband 10 pounds. But, I can fit into the in between size blue jeans as opposed to the larger ones I'd bought, so progress is being made. I've noticed in the past that I'll see the loss in my clothes before the scale, so I'm happy about that.
  9. black tea, plain.
  10. Love the coloring, very happy you both finished and loved the book!
  11. All I can say is............ And, of course, YAYS!!
  12. Glad to see you going strong again, Julie! I love the wave too! I haven't seen it on here.....where'd you get it Kay?
  13. The City on the Edge of Forever is one of my all time favorite episodes. It is heartrending. And, it features a young, and very beautiful Joan Collins in a serious and studious light. All of the actors turned in stellar performances. It also introduced a planetary sort of character that persists in Trek Legend to this day. The Guardian of Forever.
  14. Ahh, thank you for the link, Elenora. I understand more now. I'm more than sorry that you have to go through this, and hope and wish it to be solved with this hospital observation stay. You are right, you are tough, and a fighter. I have faith in you.
  15. muggle, it's nice to know you are wanted, and if retirement isn't your cuppa, go for it! Would you really get along with all that lone travelling arrangements? How does Mrs. muggle feel about it?
  16. I'm so happy to see Mary Stewart being read again! She set quite a few, as I recall, on the islands of Greece. Beautiful descriptions of the land and the sea.
  17. I'm on facebook, but hardly ever go on it. I can't imagine posting anything like I've heard some do, it's just too invasive. BTW, someone on Constant Reader, on Goodreads...posted that the main female character, Amy in Gone Girl was exactly a sociopath. I don't know why that didn't click with me, but I think that poster is absolutely correct!
  18. You may be right........
  19. No doubt in my mind! And ya know, I can't think Roddenberry was wrong. Especially considering his long view.
  20. Elenora, is this descriptive of your condition? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoglycemia Scroll down to "treatments". Does your doctor recommend anything like that?
  21. Great article, VF. I see Harlan Ellison is on the list of authors influenced by Vance. Ellison, in turn has been involved in so much sci-fi history. Star Trek, Babylon 5, Twilight Zone......boggles the mind!
  22. Definitely going on my wish list. Good review, thanks!
  23. I've only read her 1222, and enjoyed it. Good character.
  24. My husband liked Joyland, and he isn't a King fan, in fact, I'd bet this is the first of King's he has read. Yikes! Have Under the Dome on the shelf, really want to get to it!
