I have a few cohen songs on the ole' Ipod, good suggestions.

I really enjoyed Gideon and Macabre, I may pick the others up when I get paid.
I forgot Chasm, excellent book. Very original and really well paced.
-
I'm going to admit that the cover made me pick the book up, but the story is top notch. You'll definately have fun reading it.

Has anyone had a chance to read this excellent book? I found a battered copy in Preston Uni years ago and its a great read. I wholeheartedly recommend ths book, and Mr Laws other books.
I've included the blurb from the back page for you guys to get a feel fir it:
Mr Draegerman requests the pleasure of your company. If you come with us, this fifty thousand is yours. You get another two hundred thousand when you get there.
Jack Draegerman loves deals.
He made his first fortune in the fields of architecture, engineering and design, with a reputation not only as a ruthless business man but also as an infamous director of some of the most extreme horror movies ever made.
No one has seen Jack Draegerman for ten years. He lives in a huge fortress he designed and built himself. Known as The Rock, its interior is a crazy structure of labyrinthine, descending corridors. With no way out.
But now, a band of uniformed henchmen is approaching a selection of unconnected people on Draegerman's behalf. he wants them to visit him, and he's prepared to pay for the privilege.
Because Jack Draegerman has made contact with a Daemonic force. A Daemonic force who also loves a deal

I'm old enough to know better and young enough for it not to matter.

I hope we'll be seein more, the characters were quite interesting. I wouldn't put it past ITV to put a new series together.

I liked the magic cottage, its a good read. More atmospheric than scary but a good read all in all.
-
Personally, I found the ending very fitting to the subject matter of the program

Clive Barker, the man has some cool ideas.

Howdy Mick

I think you missed the point of the book Rox, the point was to shock and disgust. It was an exercise in the obscene, which apparently worked.
Personally, Fight Club is a better book but Haunted really bears witness to his ability to convey disturbing emotional through very short prose. He succeeded where many others fail dismally.

Any Tool video, very strange but watchable.

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One) is well written fantasy book by Patrick Rothfuss, well worth a read.
I enjoyed the riftwar series as well, very entertaining.

Has anyone read Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk?

Ok seeing as your willing to give almost everything a go i'm trying to think of some that i believe are not so well known so that you may not have heard heard before....you may have heard of these but here goes, a mix of genres:
Paradise lost
Eluvietie
The Kills
Echo and the bunnymen
Faith and the muse
Agalloch
Opeth
Terry Reid
Inkubus Sukkubus
She wants revenge
Interpol - only heard them other night but not bad
Hope you like at least one.
I've listened to most of those, I'm a long term Paradise lost fan. I've never been able to get on with Inkubus Sukkubus although I'm not sure why.

MCR are a bloody good band.
Your idea of a "bloody good band" and mine diifer somewhat, but I'll let you off.
Their sound just lacks something, which in my mind makes them poo. The world war two song was alright, but the others, not so great.
-
All good suggestions.

Hey folks, I need your help!
I need to refresh my Ipods library and I'm turning to you, yes you, the people of the book club forum to aid me in this endeavor.
I like most rock, heavy rock and metal. I like some oldies, classic rock n roll and the like.
I'm willing to give almost anything a go.
Any suggestions?

But in The God Delusion, Dawkins nowhere claims to prove that God does not exist. The technical term for Wilson's argument (using, "theologians and the Bible", if you please) is therefore ignoratio elenchi.
Isn't it in the title?

Hi

If you've read "Hearts in Atlantis" I take it you have Read "IT"?

I think I'll give it a go, I like the occult thriller genre.

true, but thats not what I meant. Good point though.
Its a texture, like gloss paint but a litte more "fluid" - I find that the sugars coat the pallete and poduce a lingering finish. A nice robust sweet wine, plenty of pear and aprocot on th enose and a lengthy condensed flavour are the aspect I look for.
longest novel ????
