Just looking through your list of countries etc and see Wales has a gap. Not sure if you have heard of this one
'The Welsh Girl' ....I read it a good few years back and enjoyed it. The author is half Welsh, if that counts.

'Justine Gunderson woke suddenly from a deep sleep, with the vague sense that something was wrong.'
'6 Rainier Drive' by Debbie Macomber

That is comforting news...imagine no bookshops to go in and browse....

Thought you were visiting Hamilton near Glasgow...

Got totally confused by it all, if to be honest.

That reading challenge sounds like fun Hayley. I assume you have just started this one...I might pinch it.. I assume you can't double up, each one has to be a different author/title etc.

Went to see 'Allied' with Brad Pitt in...was quite good. Friend and I enjoyed it.

Currently about halfway through A Gathering Light and it isn't half-bad, actually. Definitely not what I was expecting and I feel like it's a little bit slow, but Jennifer Donnelly's writing is particularly evocative and I've got a soft spot for some lovely descriptions. Will be interested to see if the pace picks up a bit in the second half and we get a bit more plot.
I've read this one too, but can't recall much about it. I'm sure I found it a bit disappointing I think, but can't remember why that was. As for Rebus by Ian Rankin, I can honestly say that being a Scot I have never read any of his books, but I know my in-laws had shelves full of those kind of reads. We gave so many away, when house clearing...

Got a bit confused with the second one at times, but then it fell in to place eventually, as they always do. Wonder what will happen in the last one

Jojo is back to normal walks, with a ball sometimes so she is very happy, just have to keep everything crossed that she is mended, physio next Tuesday which will be interesting, she won't be impressed being handled by a stranger! Have you seen the Supervet on TV? Noel Fitzpatrick? He was the one who operated on Obi when he was a pupster, it was his practice we have been back to with Jojo, and she'll have her physio there too, hopefully they'll be filming there at some point.must remember to always wear makeup!!
And yes, Obi is very cool!
Oh I love that Supervet guy...he is so good with animals...maybe we will see you on the telly ..

'The Penguin Lessons' by Tom Michell
What a great first read of the year. Tom Michell and his tale of him and Juan Salvador, the penguin he rescued from the beach after an oil slick. The smuggling him through the borders from Uruguay to Argentina. Nursing him back to health and Juan living with him on the college campus. making friends with all the boys, becoming the rugby team mascot and finally getting to swim. I just loved it all. It was lovely written and it made me smile throughout.
5/5 (recommend....I just love penguins)

Bought today through many recommendations for this one (Hayley/Chaliepud).....'The Nightingale' by Kristin Hannah
Only complaint I have and didn't realise is, why is the writing so small...?
