Actually 'Dale aren't doing too bad in the actual league, but U'15's are second bottom . Sounds like we all need to find the net for those winning goals Sedge.
-
Ouch.....Glendale beat 6-2 and Culter Colts u'15's beat 4-1 in a cup game.

I have a friend on Goodreads who has just read this and is raving about it as a 'you must read it'.

Great British Bake Off (Includes Spoilers)
Inver replied to baby.giraffe's topic in Music / TV / Films
I hope James goes through too....he has really come in to his own and isn't afraid to be adventurous (just like us Scots... ) Brendan, although talented is too perfectionist for me and beginning to annoy me a little. -
I don't often go to the cinema to see a film twice but I did last week. If you get a chance go and see Untouchable. It is a french subtitled film, based on a true story. I saw it on Tuesday and another two friends asked if I wanted to go see it with them and as well as catching up with them was only too happy to see the movie again. Well worth being nominated for Best Foreign film catergory somewhere.

Totally agree Ben...especially as we have Paul Lawrie up here with us, our local lad who had the best score on the final day...

Just to say I love the wrapping paper...too good to use....framing it sounds like a plan.

Mmmm....don't know that Andy would agree about that being a psycholigical boost...he was def wanting the win. Was concentrating on fitness last night at their training. Thinks that may be an issue. On his more formal role, after his Culter monthly committee meeting and his role as one of the Football Development officers of the club, he has been in touch with 3 of the local primary schools in the catchment area to arrange a meeting about links with school/club. He has to go to one of them on Monday and have a wee meeting with the Depute head about it. Mostlly to encourage young kids to get active and try sport (and footie) as a way of keeping fit. Watch this space.

The Casual Vacancy by J K Rowling - General discussion

Me too Chrissy...if I ever buy it...lol. -
Glad to hear the guy is OK...must have been a worry. A defeat for you that is a shame, but to league leaders..ah well. Andy & the Dale had another cup game at home against a premier league team who finished 2nd last season, lost 3-1 but played well. U'15's at home today to bottom of the leaguers, we hoped for 3pts today, scored first 1-0 HT, went up 2-0 after given a pen and then lost it with 20mins to go and drew 2-2. At least a point but they so needed it to be a win today. They also have 3 players injured at the moment too.

'One Good Turn' by Kate Atkinson This is the second of the Jackson Brodie books. I did enjoy Case Histories and I hoped this was going to as good a read. Slightly disappointed with it but it may be because I took too long to read it and I was losing interest at points. There was a lot of jumping about and I found there were too many characters at times too that I couldn't remember who they were and what they had done within the plot. Enjoyed the fact it was taking place in Edinburgh and recognised places mentioned. 3/5

Went to cinema twice last week....the classic Hitchcock 'Vertigo' and the new 'Hope Springs'...very funny and relating to quite a lot of it...!

Yikes..sounds serious hope the guy is OK. So you picked up a point at least. Yesterday's Glendale game looked like they were going to get a point at least 2-2, then they blew it and lost 4-2. Not a good weekend for U'15's...lost again ...and totally binned 13-0 away from home. Kintore will be laughing at them. As per normal they let a goal be scored in the first seconds of the game! 5-0 at HT. Andy was writing down everything they weren't doing to tell them at HT, did it make a difference! No they let them score another 8 . Debriefing in changing room consisted of one of hte coaches saying he will be changing his prioritie to work first then footie. Andy said if they keep this up all season if will make next seasons decision easy for him about the team!

Sunday against the dreaded (badies of last year, league winners) Kintore United. They are a few players short too as it is a mid term long weekend holiday this weekend, so a few players unavailable. Home game but who knows if it will make any difference. Oh and by the way Andy had his assessment for a Community coach with Aberdeen FC last Friday afternoon. He had to prepare ~20 min session warm up/drill for 5-7 yr olds at their footie session. Had to do it at a leisure centre. Seemed to go OK, gave him a few pointers he could improve on probably. They have asked him to go along to Culter leisure centre to their weekly session for kids for the next 4wks for more experience and then seeing how it goes will hopefully see about getting him some paid sessions and then hopefully that will be him on the books! I think they do the holiday/summer camp type things too, so things are looking up

You're in the money.....lol. A goal is a goal, well done. Andy and the 'Dale won 4-1 on Saturday! Apparently they are 2nd equal in the league at the moment http://www.aberdeenshireafa.com/leagues/division-one-north/ In the U'15's game not such good news, but was expected. The Scottish Cup game..... binned 12-1, but Andy and his dad both said the score actually flattered Huntly as on a few occasions they scored from just punting and lobbing the ball and oor goalies was too wee in the goals to do anything. Ah well never mind.

Sorry you didn't finish Birdsong, but can understand. It is one of those your either like or don't. I don't usually give up on books but this year I have done so with two. I'm hoping these are the only ones. 'I Capture the Castle ~ Dodie Smith and 'Vanishing Acts' by Jodi Picoult

Love the phots KO.....especially of Chris Hoy (my hero..... ..sigh). They are having a wee parade in Aberdeen on Sunday for our local gold medalists, and they are going via the gold post boxes. Hope the weather improves for them.

'That Certain Age' by Elizabeth Buchan Very much of a yawn by the end of this and I actually wondered at one point what the story was about. Two women 50 years apart, different lifestyles and supposedly a connection, where it was I don't actually know apart from the baby issue, and then it popped up right at the end. If there was any other reference earlier on I missed it. I'm sorry but that is hours of reading I will not get back. The characters weren't jump of the page either I'm afraid. Don't bother. 1/5
