Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton
kitty replied to wrathofkublakhan's topic in General Fiction
Has anybody read it in a whole day? When I was in Borders today, next to the Anita Blake books they had put a note, saying if you love Anita Black why not try Jim Butchers Harry Dresden series. He is a Wizard. Anybody read any? -

kitty replied to wrathofkublakhan's topic in General Fiction
I have yet to read any of her books, they have been on my buying list for ages. Every time I look at the library, they only have books half way through the series. Im hoping to get a least one for my birthday though! -
Sounds really good, ive just finished reading my first book of his Black and Blue. I must admit I wasnt really greatly impressed, but would like to try more of his.

Bookmarks or turned down pages or...?
kitty replied to Purple Poppy's topic in General Book Discussions
I always used a bookmark before, but the last year or so I havent. At the moment I am using a clothes tag. Sounds weird but that must have been the closest thing at the time. -
Really fed up I only got the one on Saturday. I will be back at the Library at the weekend stocking up on all they have. Must admit I dont really like reading the same Author one after another, but if they are that good I may just have to.

I started Monday Mourning yesterday night, im half way through it and now ive found this thread. By the looks of it ive not done to much damage. But i think i will start from book one now I know what order to read them in, thanks Maureen. Had no idea Bones had anything to do with Kathy though!

Well im going to have a jog to the Library on Saturday, to check out the selection. Not sure what they will have because its not the town centre one. Carnt buy any at the moment, as I am on a buget of

I am thinking of getting Bitten, as I would like to start with a book I have read. They seem to have a good selection on Amazon. Im now going to check out some of the sites.

Ive just finished reading Vanishing Acts, I did enjoy it but not as much as the others. Normally I carnt put them down so this one took me a while longer to read. It didnt help that I turned to the back and read some of the Group Discussion questions. I read something I should'nt have, so I will not be doing that again.

I prefer paperback, but at the moment I have been buying alot of hardback because I just carnt wait for them to come out in paperback. I agree with Maureen, hardbacks are so not good for reading in the bath.
-
I carnt wait, think ill slowly make my way through the rest, so im not waiting for it to come out!

Thats good news as the rest of her books are on my Christams list! I will look forward to having the pack back !

I read Dime Store Magic the book before the one im reading now, and didnt enjoy it nearly as much as the first two. Dont get me wrong it was a great book, just really missed Elena and Clay like mad.
-
I carnt wait for her new book, just a shame it's hardback. I find hardbacks harder to read plus there more expensive. I have not read any reviews on it yet though. I have just started reading The Jump today and its looking pretty good!

Yay, I finally finished IT at the weekend, I did enjoy it in the end though. Its just so thick. I then watched the film and thought it was awful, was really fake. Pennywise really made me laugh throughout it though which I liked, but it kind of made it not so scary. Did anybody else hate the film? I really wish I hadnt watched it because it spoilt it for me a bit.

Thanks everbody for your thoughts, I just dont have the room to have the same book twice at mo. (Ive just found out that charity shops do good books). I didnt think about how a cover could affect it selling and the copy is much more posh looking!

Thanks for that Lilywhite, Im sure they will be great:readingtwo:

Just bought two of Martina's books today, one called The Runaway and the other is Maura's Game. The lady on the market stall told me to read The runaway first as Maura's game runs on from it, is this true? Thanks!

I am really gutted, when to the charity shop today to get some books for my boyfriends mum. I couldnt go away empty handed so I got myself a Philippa Gregory book and also a Martina Cole one. I have returned home to find I already have the Martina Cole one, but didnt notice as they both have a different cover. This has happened so many times to me now and its driving me mad. The lady in the shop messed up all the window display just to get it for me. Does this get to anybody else or is it me just being . Ps Sorry if this has been mentioned before!

Carnt really remember what age I was but I know I was quite young. I also remember working through all the reading books at school, plus the higher reading. Then I got to pick my own books from home. My favourite used to be Shirley Hughes books because I thought the pictures were so beautiful.

I have read some, but most of them was when I was a kid. The Baby sitters Club, Sweet Valley High and some Point Horror ones. Also in the middle of reading the Kelley Armstrong series, which is fantastic.
