    Hello

Hello Roger! Glad you could join us.
  4. Hello Jean! Good to have you with us.
  5. I have read and enjoyed three of her books. I have still to read The Distance Between Us. My favourite was definitely the vanishing Act of Esme Lennox.
  6. There are some books that I have put down and know that I will never pick up again.
  7. I am having the same problem at the moment Michele. I know I have started a good book but for some reason I am reluctant to proceed with it. I feel it is going to be predictable. This is the third Sarah Waters book that I have read. I really want to go on with it; I think I am just in the wrong mood. (The Night Watch by Sarah Waters it has had some good reviews on here.) I have set it aside meantime and will go back to it soon I hope.
  8. Great review Paula. I read this book last year and I also loved it. I think it is my favourite Margaret Atwood book.

    Hi!

Hello Sarah! Hope you enjoy it here.
  14. Hope you enjoy Small Island Aimz. I thought it was great.
  15. I finished Fruit of the Lemon. It was very interesting with a great deal of family history from Jamaica. My next read is also set in Jamaica, but I suspect it is very different in tone. Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. Inspired by Charlotte Bronte
  16. Hi Mousecake! Glad you could join us. There is always room for another bookworm. I have just finished reading Fruit of the Lemon by Andrea Levy and I think I will start soon on Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, which has been sitting on my shelf for nearly a year now. Hope you enjoy the chat here.
  17. I voted Thriller, Historical, Action, Adventure and Another
  18. I thoroughly enjoyed The Remains of the Day thanks Aimz. I finished it on holiday. It was the only book I did manage to read. So May was rather a slow month. I have started on The Fruit of the Lemon by Andrea Levy. I do enjoy Andrea Levy
  19. Well I took 5 books with me this year and I only managed to finish one of them. I guess having all my family with me got in the way of reading.
  20. Hello and welcome Chris.

  23. Hi Karen! Glad you could join us.
  24. Generally I will read only one book at a time, but in special circumstances (if the book is too heavy to carry about) I will start another book.
