I have not seen the movie, but certainly would like to now that I have read the book.

Hi Paula
I would recommend reading Lolita, but it can be depressing. I would also recommend reading Alexandra Fuller

I did enjoy reading Lolita. Indeed Humbert was horrible. I felt the book gave an insight into the mind of a Paedophile. However there seemed to me to be more to this book since Humbert

Hi PDR I have finished Lolita at last. To me it was a difficult read because of the subject matter, but I did like it. There is so much to take in really. I think I will have to re-read it.

It has taken me a while but I eventually finished reading Lolita. I quickly got used to the style but I was pretty appalled at Humbert Humbert and so I could only read a little at a time. I am struggling to get the right words to describe this book. I enjoyed it but at times I hated it and it made me shiver. I am putting it in my to be read again pile.
I am now starting on Suite Fran

Hope you enjoy Oryx and Crake Aimz. It was one of my favourite reads last year.

Maybe a cat brought him to your garden.
Do you live near a river or something like that?

We found a dead rat in the garden yesterday so cannot open the back door without valium!

The first time I stumbled upon her books I could not believe that anyone would call a book Cross Stitch. I lifted it from the shelf to see just what it was about. I was hooked.

I have finished Every Light in the House Burnin

That is a good list Kitty. Some great books there. Some on my list and some I would like to put on my list if it were not so long already.
The Diana Gabaldon books are great. I assume that you have already read Cross Stitch and Dragonfly in Amber since they are not on your list. Did you enjoy them?
I have still to read A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It is so big, but I must get around to it soon.

Angel the books by Kalogris sound as if they would be interesting. I must look her up soon.
I also loved North and South on the BBC. I recently bought the book but don

I have a very young lilac in the garden Muggle. It is more a deep wine colour than the pretty purple ones. Last year was the first time it flowered and they were very small flowers. I am hoping for bigger flowers this year. It is budding up at the moment. I will be able to tell if it has a lovely scent later in the spring.
I think I would like a white lilac PP.
Have you got lilacs in your new garden Muggle?

Oh I had not realised that there were three more books she had written. That is good news.
I will try and read them in the order you suggest Amy. Thanks:)

The roses are beautiful Poppy. Do they have a lovely scent?

I really mean to read more of Maggie O’Farrell's books. I think they are excellent.
