  1. Thanks, Jules. I'm looking forward to trying it.
  2. Thanks. :D

I just wrote the word 'Poppies' into Google Images and it came up and I resized it. I thought it was very pretty. :)

  3. Thank you. :D I'm very chuffed and looking forward to reading it. :)

  4. Thanks guys. Ceinwenn - they're a pair, aren't they! Hopefully someone will send them marching back soon. Pipread - I hope so - I'm certainly looking forward to reading David Walliams' book. I've been reading The Shack since 29 October. It's okay but it's not making me think "I *must* pick this up to find out what happens next..." but if I stop now then I know I won't go back to it as I'm not very good at returning to books I've half-read. I've lost my ironing Mojo too - but I'm less concerned about that!
  5. I must have watched The Railway Children (both the original version, and the more recent Attenborough version) about 125,327 times and I still cry every single time Bobby says... "Daddy! My Daddy!"
  6. I've lost my reading Mojo. If anyone finds it, please return it to me by first-class post, as I'm missing it...!
  7. Tom was fabulous last night! Lisa was great too. Cherie was really good, but I'm not sure she deserved the same score - she wasn't as good as Tom. What happened to Austin though - he wasn't up to his usual standard?! John should go by rights, but I think that unless he's in the bottom two, then Heather will go. It's not John's fault - I understand that the judges are frustrated with him but the public need to stop voting for him now. I think he's good fun but if he stays then people who really deserve to be there will go instead.
  8. Thanks. I haven't read Rotter's Club either. I enjoyed The Rain Before it Falls though and was wondering which of his to try next.
  9. Noodles cooked with chilli, mushrooms, spring onions, king prawns and scallops - yum!
  10. What did you think of this one?
  11. I had a ham sandwich with some lush seeded bread, because hubby is out tonight and it didn't seem worth cooking just for me.
  12. I succumbed today and bought some 'Half Baked' but I have to say I prefer the Cookie Dough - this one is even sicklier! I'm sure it'll still get eaten though!
  13. Michael Crichton, author, dies of cancer age 66. My husband loves his books - he'll be gutted. (I believe he was involved in ER too - I haven't read the link yet) RIP
  14. That sounds LUSH!! Must look out for this.
  15. I've never heard of it being eaten like that. I love it in a crumble... With vanilla ice-cream.
  16. I was horrified when it was announced that Catherine Tate would be in it as I'd only ever seen snippets of her as that dreadful 'bovvered' character, but she was absolutely awesome as Donna and I was gutted she was only in one series.
  17. Blimey - there's a blast from the past. I remember those - they were lush! My favourite is Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough. Yum!
  18. Haggis is quite peppery, but it's also quite nice. Monkfish is yummy! Andy - fancy a go on "I'm a Celeb"? I'm sure you're at least as famous as most of the contestants and you could have a go at witchety (sp?) grubs - amongst other things!
  19. Oh no, not Nigel Harman! I can't bear him because he's so wooden. He was the reason I stopped watching EastEnders.
  20. You're not in trouble! :friends0: Sorry if it sounded like I was having a go.

It's just that there is only a link to the book on Amazon - nothing written about it. I wondered whether you wanted to give us your thoughts about it. :)

  21. No, not at all - sorry. What I meant was that when he announced it, I didn't realise he was saying it for the first time. Not sure I'm explaining it very well. If it had been announced before then I wouldn't have known as I don't read any DW Spoilers on any forums I frequent, so he might have been just saying it, rather than announcing it for the first time. If that makes sense!
  22. I was shocked - I didn't realise it was a 'spoiler' because I avoid the spoiler threads. I'm disappointed as he's fantastic as DW, but I was disappointed when Christopher Eccleston left too. Hopefully the replacement will be just as good. I wanted to see Tennant in Hamlet but the tickets sold out really quickly.
  23. I love mouldy cheeses! And squid!
  24. Moab is my Washpot by Stephen Fry The Blurb Stephen Fry is one of the great originals... This autobiography of his first twenty years is a pleasure to read, mixing outrageous acts with sensible opinions in bewildering confusion... That so much outward charm, self-awareness and intellect should exist alongside behaviour that threatened to ruin the lives of innocent victims, noble parents and Fry himself, gives the book a tragic grandeur and lifts it to classic status The Financial Times Ive always had a soft spot for Stephen Fry - as an only child, Ive always wanted an older brother and I think hed fit the bill perfectly! This autobiography charts the first 18 years of his life although only scant details of his life until he started school. Its candid and frank and hes open about his struggles with his sexuality, his expulsion from public school and his slide into crime. Luckily for Fry, he comes from an exceptionally loving and supportive family and clearly still feels remorse for what he put them through. Fortunately, thanks to his own determination and the support of his family, he came through these experiences and went on to become the man we know today Hes a remarkably clever man and yet the book never feels preachy. I read on a forum about him yesterday that hes due to publish further memoirs in 2010 - so thats one to look forward to. The paperback is 436 pages long and is published by Arrow Books. The ISBN number is 978-0099457046. 9/10 (Read October 2008)
  25. No, but I'm definitely going to! I'm going to look out for The Liar next, as although it's a novel, it's loosely based on this book!
