  1. Stonehenge? Cooooool! I'll have to have a lookout for that book! Clare.... I've only read 'The Queen of Subtleties' by Suzannah Dunn and having now looked her up on google, it appears she's not actually a writer of this genre as a rule. I'm quite gutted now because with just one book read I was ready to read the rest and convinced she was of this genre! However, I think I could quite happily read her others too. Darker Days than Usual (novella and three stories), Serpent
  2. Comedy genre, totally, absolutely, no question!! ISBN: 0-7493-1352-8 I read this book for the first time whilst on holiday in Tunisia and was laughing so much I ended up having to read it aloud to the people sitting near me!! The Germans there were in hysterics. Anyhoo.... I'm sure you all remember Sue Townsend from her Adrian Mole series. Forget them! Yes, they were very good but this book is the ultimate in comedy. Seriously, it is hilarious from start to finish and with the delicious wit of Sue Townsend, I guarantee you'll not read this without a grin.
  3. I LOVE historical fiction Kell!!! I highly highly recommend Philippa Gregory....you'll notice throughout this forum over time that I'm obsessed with her books! Another one I've just got into is Suzannah Dunn. The Tudor/Elizabethan period is my favourite without a doubt. I'm convinced I'm a reincarnation from that era!
  4. This fiction book falls into the 'horror' genre. ISBN: 0-45-117995-1 I love all of Peter James books, however this one rates among my all time favourites. Host is a story about a scientist, Joe Messenger, and his determination to find the key to immortality. His father was cryogenically 'preserved' and as a result of an administration failing within the holding company, was 'defrosted' before Joe could do anything to prevent it. Being determined not to let this happen again, he combines cryogenics with artificial intelligence with the hope that he can cheat death. A new student arrives at his facility, Juliet Spring....boing.....and it seems that she may hold the key to his success with the knowledge of downloading the human mind into a computer. Inevitably the couple become 'involved' and sinister things begin to happen at the workplace and at Joe's own home. His own obsession with his quest puts his loved ones in mortal danger and has you sitting on the edge of your seat as you pant and run with him to prevent further tragedy. Although this book covers technical things such as A.I. and cryogenics in reasonable depth, it is written in a way that is easy to understand and incredibly eye opening. On more than one occasion, this book sent shivers down my spine and it is one that once you have read it, you won't forget it! No review could ever do this book justice in my personal opinion.
  5. I voted for Angels and Demons. I enjoyed all Dan Brown's books, thanks to Tracey getting me hooked, yet that one stuck out the most in my mind. From the first page I was engrossed and lost half my nails as I chewed my way through to the end!
