  1. Oops sorry about that. I did do a search but it didn't come up with anything, I guess I didn't search very well.
  2. I've just recently got into Philip Pullman, and have started His Dark Materials Trilogy. I hated the movie The Golden Compass, it was nothing compared to the book.
  3. Author: Mitch Albom ISBN: 0751536822 Genre: general Fiction Pages: 231 Format: Paperback Publisher: Sphere With the recent passing of my father, this is one book I 'needed' to read. I was gob smacked my eldest son even thought about buying me this book for xmas, let alone actually surprising me with it on xmas day. This was a wonderful little book, with a lot of meaning to it. It helps you to understand why certain things happen to you in life, and how we are all connected. This book is basically about a man who dies, and is met by five people, who in some way affected how he lived his life. Some are family while others are strangers. I really can't go on to tell you more, as you have to read it for yourselves. All I can say is, I found the book left me wanting more. I wish the book had been bigger so I could go on reading. It's a light read and some people would finish it in a day. It's a very comforting read and one worth having in your book pile to be read.
  4. Finished Camelots Shadow and thought it was good. I'll be getting the other two that follow this book. Now reading; Chocolat by Joanne Harris.
  5. I guess I read more in winter, as I'm usually out doing stuff in summer.
  6. Oh I loved it Clare, and I read that they're making her 'PS, I love you' (not read that one) into a movie.
  7. Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern Author: Cecelia Ahern ISBN: 0-00-716501-3 Genre: Fiction Publisher: Harper Collins Pages:583 I love it!!!!!! This book is fantastic! (imo) It's a wonderful book about friendship and love. About 'best friends' and 'soul mates'. I fell in love with the characters of this book and I found it so hard to put down. I just wanted to read read read!!! When the book finished, I felt sad because I enjoyed it so much and wanted to stay in their lives. I liked the way this book was set out, the whole book was set in email and snail mail form, so each page was a conversation one was having with another. It reminded me of the movie 'You've got Mail'. I highly recommed this book to anyone who loves to read chick lits. I am even thinking some guys may like this book after all the two best friends are male and female, it is about their bond. It was so enjoyable. 10/10
  8. Just finished Cecelia Ahern's Where Rainbows End and I loved it, I loved it! It is definitely one of my fav books. I'll read Camelot's Shadow next.
  9. I loved this one too. Imo it's better than the movie, but then books usually are.
  10. I think I may choose that one next. Also I wrote one of the books wrong it's: The Secret Life of Bees, not The Secret of Bees
  11. I'm reading Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern, and I feel this comes under this genre. I'm loving the book, and yes I think Sophie Kinsella is a chick lit too. I loved her undomestic goddess book.
  12. Today I went and bought Chocolat ~ Joanne Harris, The Secret of Bees ~ Sue Monk Kidd & Camelot's Shadow ~ Sarah Zettel. I can't wait to get started.
  13. Just finished The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, it was a good book. I don't think it was brilliant but it did make me think. I will most probably read Cecelia Aherns ~ Where Rainbows End next. Hmmmm
  14. I also thought it was a good book.

  18. I'm reading The Constant Gardener by John le Carre, and so far I am loving it. I've not read many suspence thrillers if that's what you call it. Let's hope I enjoy the whole book.
  19. Books I've read so far in 2006 are: The Fog ~ James Herbert The Jewels of Tessa Kent ~ Judith Krantz A Kept Woman ~ Frankie McGowan Fishermens Wives ~ Angela Huth Lion Witch and the wardrobe ~ C. S. Lewis Hollywood Wives ~ Jackie Collins Labyrinth ~ Kate Mosse The History of Love ~ Nicole Krauss The Undomestic Goddess ~ Sophie Kinsella The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets ~ Eva Rice Priestess of the White ~ Trudi canavan
  20. The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets ~ Eva Rice Publisher Review ISBN: 0-7553-2550-8 Book Type: Fiction. I found this book lovely to read, it's set in the 1950's just as Rock n Roll era is entering. It's about a family who have lost their husband/father to the war and how they struggle to make ends meet without him, and how living in a magnificent house, which many people adore, constantly reminds the family of their husband/father which at times is too hard to bare. It's about friendship as two girls Penelope and Charlotte become inseparable. I really did like this part of the book, it was great to see their friendship blossom and grow. It's also a story about love, and teenage girls crush on Johnnie Ray and how Elvis Presley influenced boys too. I found this a lovely read, not overly thrilling to read but I put it into my cosy category. Anyone who grew up in the rock n
  21. It is Kell, it took me ages to get through lol.
  22. Change Your Life in 7 Days by Paul McKenna ISBN: 0-593-05055-X I bought this book last spring because I had read Pauls I Can Make You Thin and had fantastic results. I had heard that his Change your life in 7 days was great and so decided to purchase it. The Book starts with an introduction and then goes on with 7 chapters. Each chapter is designed to be read each day. So one chapter per day. The chapters aren't that long with about 35 pages there or so and so can be read easily each day, considering you have the time to read them. They contain exercises and lots of good information that gets you thinking. Paul has a way of talking that is easy to understand and he makes lots of sense. He also makes you do some written work that helps you to break things down piece by piece. The book consists of these chapters Introduction Day One: Who Are You, Really? Day Two: A Users Manual For Your Brain Day Three: The Power of Positive Perspective Day Four: Dreamsetting Day Five: Healthy Foundations Day Six: Creating Money Day Seven: Happily Ever After Conclusion: Changing Your Life One Week At A Time The Book also comes with a mind programming Cd and I listen to this pretty much everyday whenever I can, it is very uplifting and each time I do I can feel my confidence building. The Cd runs for about just over 27 minutes. My verdict: This book is amazing, before I bought it my confidence was low. From when I first started the book on the first chapter I felt myself becoming more confident and listening to the cd and practicing the exercises daily or as often as I can really does help. My favourite exercise is squeezing my middle finger and thumb together, it always works, if you want to know what I mean you'll have to get the book. 10/10
  23. Priestess of the White ~ Trudi Canavan ISBN1-84149-386-4 Publisher: Orbit Book Type Fantasy, 659 pages The book is about a young lady called Auraya who becomes one of the chosen Priestess's of the White. There are 5 White priests and priestess's all together. The story also envolves Auraya's relationship with a Dreamweaver called Leiard, who Auraya has known all her life. Dreamweavers are not accepted by the Gods, Priests & Priestess. So this causes problems for Auraya. The story goes into different tribes and I rather liked the Siyee who were little people with wings. But again I didn't feel enough went into this part of the story. May be I am just fussy? The book for me wasn't interesting enough to keep me hooked, infact I had to take a break from it because I felt it dragged on too long, and wasn't exciting. I didn't feel enough detail was given towards Auraya, I just couldn't connect with her and I felt it was like she had no personality. Or the author wasn't showing enough of it. I much prefered Leiard and Emeralh in the book. Once I reached the last 200 pages of the book, it began to speed up and I began to enjoy it. At the end I wanted to read more, and seeing as two more books follow this one, I'll have to wait to read them. But I am not sure I will purchase these. For me I give the book a rating of 6/10
  24. Just finished priestess of the white. I enjoyed the last 200 pages and was just starting to feel like I was getting to know Auraya when the book finished. My fav characters in the book were Leiard, Mirar and Emeralh. Will get a review done of it soon. Think I'll read The Constant gardener next.
  25. I remember our teacher reading this one to us at school. I loved it.
