      Aww! Happy Birthday, Xander!

  8. Hope Xan feels better tomorrow - it would be awful for him to be ill on his 2nd birthday!

  9. I have 12 free days and nights till I start my new job. Lots of time in the evenings for cross stitching and reading - hurrah! :)

  10. I was a little disappointed at how disjointed season 3 seemed - it jumped all over the place. And there wasn't enough naked Eric. And quite a few things happened that don't happen till later in the book series, which may have serious repursuccions for how the TV series runs. Am now seriously worried about the possibility of the book 4 plot making it into season 4, which is a shame, because that should feature plenty of naked Eric!
  11. I think we can safely close this thread now as the original poster was obviously trying to get a reaction. *Firmly plants a big sign reading "Please do not feed the Troll"*
  12. I squeeze it all in when Xan is sleeping - LOL!
  13. I'd love a Cricut, but I could never justify the expense.

    More football

Chelsea are whipping poor old Blackpool today!
  15. I've been making Xmas cards already - and not just cross stitched ones! Got a magazine with loads of kit on it ad have been playing around with the stash - some of them the same as in the mag, but some others just me having fun with the pieces.
  16. My pal had her second baby boy the other day. Because I didn't know her till after her first son was born (and so never stitched anything for his birth), I thought a little ornament to commemorate BOTH her beautiful boys might be nice. So, this little ornament has a "C" for Charlie (the new baby) on one side and an "H" for Hayden (the big brother, who is a month or so older than Xan) on the other. This is the item Xan was helping me stitch in the video I posted on Facebook. The silver heart at the bottom says "Made with love" on it.
  17. Just to let you know, my Kelley Armstrong prize arrived this morning - a signed copy of Waking The Witch and a couple of Otherworld bookmarks. I'm chuffed to ribbons - thank you! :)

  18. My competition prize arrived this morning - a signed copy of Waking The Witch by Kelley Armstrong along with a couple of Otherworld bookmarks. I can hardly wait to get started on it, but this weekend is chocka and I possibly won't get a chance till next week - Argh!
  19. Goodnight Moon is AWESOME - it was Xan's favourite for AGES. Guess How Much I Love You is also lovely - Xan loves that one at bedtime. Check out the Ladybird Books fairytales series - we have several of those which Xander loves. Also the Spot books - especially ones that have flaps to lift (he loves Where's Spot?). Mick Inkpen does some lovely ones - have a look at the Wibbly Pig books- some of those have flaps to lift. The That's Not My... books are lovely touchy-feely ones. Dear Zoo is also a fab one for getting little ones to recognise animals and it, too, has flaps to lift.
  20. I hope you'll enjoy the book. It's a completely unusual novel and very beautiful. I hope they've done a decent job of the film!
  21. Despite the fact that one of the stars is Keira "stick-thin-can't-act-for-toffee-pouty-mouth" Knightly, I really want to see this. I just hope they haven't Hollywood-ized the ending!
  22. Star Wars novels belong in the sci-fi/fantasy fiction section, or if you have a movie/,media section, perhaps there. Harry Potter belongs in the children's fantasy section, not classics. I always find it odd how commonly-known books get so badly misclassified!
  23. I can read upside down, but prefer to read my books the right way up and reserve my reverse reading for sneaking glances at other people's stuff across tables. I can read and write mirror writing quickly and clearly too.
  24. I've not seen it yet...
  25. So, from what you've posted, are we to gather you don't read at all? If so, why join a book forum in the first place?
