As my list is bare at the moment - but will have some new titles soon - I decided to explore my bookcase...and see what pops out......................I was rewarded with Robin Cook's Acceptable Risk. Any one read that? what do you think?
  7. Wow Jo! :star:
  8. A very fast paced thriller - during the first chapter you are already holding your breath, trying to guess who is going to get it first. It certainly does not let you down if dead bodies are your game - they start popping up (or down! ) left right and centre. There is never any whodunnit - the bad guy/s are named from the start, although some turn out to be "badder" than you thought in the first place - it is rather a case of what was the motive. The main bad guy is pictured as too much of a jack of all trades - but then again he had to be - a lot of the story is based on his abilities to be a bit of a mcgyver/chuck norris. (Obviously one that could, and would, put his knowledge to bad use.) All in all not too bad a story - although I've read better. I liked the way it ended, and was never bored....amused, sceptical, curious, but not bored.
  9. Sounds bad!!
  10. Nah...I liked it! And now I also know how to pronounce it!
  11. ooops yes! [

I am now a bit more than half way through, knee deep in bodies....and still counting. (Puts Rambo to shame!) You know who the killer is....the suspense is how he is going to kill the next victim.... I am quite enjoying it though........

Yippee.....can't wait! I get so excited when I am waiting for a book!
  15. Nah...this book must be aimed for self-loathing, peace hating, parents. I can only imagine with horror the number of whys and hows and whos and whens and whats and wheres that I have to endure and answer, were i to be silly enough, and self-sadistic enouch to buy it and use a couple of these phrases. AAAAAAARRRRRRRR
  16. I know...but can you imagine little kids'eyes opening widely in horror when they hear that? :? (Or knowing kids opening in glee!!)
  17. . I came across this book, which is being advertised as a great present for Christmas. I think the author has a really wicked sense of humor. I smile reading this, but would not tease any kids with it.
  18. Ohhhhhhhh, must be one was old and dying and the other still a teenager then!
  19. Hearing you talking (or do I mean reading you talking?) I am reminded of back to the future. (starring MJ Fox Kell)
  20. I finished my "waiting in the van" book. Must put another one there...how will waiting be tollerable? But it has to be a book that I don't want to devour. A dilemma of sorts! compted
