  1. As I always carry a book in my bag, they end up getting pretty tatty (stabbed by the hairbrush, bent at the edges), so with paperbacks I am a page turner - sorry, but only with my own books. I also take great pleasure in breaking the spine! :duck: Hardbacks is different story all together. I remove the cover as soon as the book comes off the book shelf to stop it getting damaged, and I usually stick it in the gap so there are no gaps in the bookcase (weird aren't I). :spin: I'll use whatever's available as a bookmark as long as it has some colour - I don't like receipts. In my last hard back I used a birthday card, and I like using postcards from friends (a little love before settling down to read and dreams of far off places). I had a cat bookmark that hooks over the top of the book, but it kept threatening to bend so now it's decorating the TV. Jo xx
  2. Like I've said before, I used to only read books by Steven King so if I see one of his it's mine. On a bored day I borrowed Popcorn by Ben Elton from my Dad and now I own all of his, and it was through liking Elton that I tried David Badiel and Robert Llwellyn (I found those 2 funny on TV, so thought their books might be too). Most of the books I've enjoyed in the last 3/4 years were from my former partner's massive book collection. I knew I needed some new material to read so he started chosing books I might like for me. I haven't actually bought any new books for a long time - I keep getting the desire to re-read this book, then that book, etc, but I guess I either choose because I know the author, or if the cover is attractive and the blurb sounds good. I don't read books if they're really popular - I'm odd like that! Jo xx

  4. Can I get some real spoilers, please? I don't read the Harry Potter books, but I would love to know who dies and all the secrets so I can tease my friends! Jo xx
  5. I have to be honest and say that I have never been interested in Harry Potter (please no boos!). I've never read any of the books, although I did see the first film and didn't particularly enjoy it. Sorry guys, there always has to be one! Jo xx
  6. I can't post on this board yet. Louise, it's your turn! Jo xx
