Are we all ready for the return of Lost on Sunday?!
Does anyone know how many episodes we have this time?
ETA: Oh no! According to Lostpedia, it's noton in the UK until 4th May? And that's despite the fact that's it's tomorrow in the US/Canada! How comes we have to wait an extra week??

I posted a review on there once, and got 'feedback' from someone, criticising it, and tell me to check out other reviews to see what to write! It put me off for life! lol

Headline have a site dedicated to Jane Austen books, including reading guides, and further links.
-
Actually, I prefer threads to be resurrected, rather than new ones started. It just meakes things simpler in the future. Thanks
PS Hope you find a book soon!

Kylie, I LOVE those books!
They are one of the few that I have re-read, and will do so again.
-
I haven't yet seen last night's episode, but I was already thinking the same thing. I found myself getting into the last two shows, but this time most of them just annoy me! We have it on Sky+, so can just watch bits of it!

This is my review of the book. I haven't read the other book, so can't comment on that.

The rest of this thread, which was off-topic, is in the General Chat section.. found here.

Set in seventeenth-century Iran, THE BLOOD OF FLOWERS is the powerful and haunting story of a young girl
-
Phew.. I'm so pleased someone else liked it!
It does pull you in without your realising, doesn't it?
-
Maggie O'Farrell is one of my favourite authors.. and I think that that book is her best. It certainly pulls you in, doesn't it?
-
There is a further thread here, with a little discussion about her other books.
-
Davo, can I please suggest that you try doing a quick search before starting a new thread. Having information together, rather in many separate threads makes it much easier for future readers.

Mia, I couldn't agree more! I'm afraid Donna is annoying me a bit, and I'm not yet sure if I'll get used to her or not. The storyline was really good.. even though I had to explain it to Beth afterwards!
I think this could be the reason that Dr Who is popular with so many people - having the different writers means that there is something to please everyone.

A Golden Age by Tahmima Anam

Well I was proved wrong, because my subscription one came today, and it was the same as the free one, which seems a bit silly.
They don't seem that quick at sending out the free copy.
-
Yep, there has been some discussion on LT - all they ask is that you have a minimum of 25 words. Some have misread, and have done 250.
-
Kell received this as a LT Early Reviewer's book, and has kindly offered it as a book ring. If you've read it, it would be nice if you could share your thoughts in this thread.
Synopsis:
'A is for Apple. A bad apple.'Jack has spent most of his life in juvenile institutions, to be released with a new name, new job, new life. At 24, he is utterly innocent of the world, yet guilty of a monstrous childhood crime. To his new friends, he is a good guy with occasional flashes of unexpected violence. To his new girlfriend, he is strangely inexperienced and unreachable. To his case worker, he's a victim of the system and of media-driven hysteria. And to himself, Jack is on permanent trial: can he really start from scratch, forget the past, become someone else? Is a new name enough? Can Jack ever truly connect with his new friends while hiding a monstrous secret? This searing and heartfelt novel is a devastating indictment of society's inability to reconcile childhood innocence with reality.
(If you'd like to join the book ring, take a look at this thread.)

HandD, did you subscribe to the magazine, or request a free copy? My free copy arrived ok, I subscribed, but I haven't recieved anything yet. I would imagine that when they recieve a subscription, they send out the next edition (and it's only bi-monthly), in case you had the free copy.
-
I've also been putting off getting this one, because I haven't read any Dickens. I think I may now have to put this on my wish list.
HandD, I don't think it matters at all if we have more than one review.. both here and in the blog. So please go ahead.
-
Aww Kirsty, it's ok..
I for one appreciate the apology.
-
You know, I never realised that.. but it looks as if it is! I don't think I've ever read a thriller aimed at teens, so it will be interesting to look at.
-
The review books have been allocated, and I'm getting Sugarcoated.
Mind you, I got one a few months ago, and it's never turned up!
-
Nope, fluffy is not how I'd describe it! It's by Gregory Maguire, who wrote Wicked.
How do you choose your next book?
