You're such a harsh critic!

The Tiger Who Came To Tea is a popular book, and both my 9 year old and 4 year old LOVE Charlie and Lola. Other than that, there's a lot to look through!

Moved to the YP Zone, as it's really about suggestions.. but if I understand correctly, you want suggestions that you can purchase from here?

My first word of advice for this book is to not read any reviews that spell out the story, and certainly don

Sounds good.....bookring material I would say
Unfortunately it's a hardback, which puts the postage up for everyone.

‘I miss him with every breath and heartbeat. He should have been my happy ending. Instead, he is the sad beginning to my story.’
This story begins the funeral of Olivia’s husband Luca, who has been killed in a car accident. Olivia is shattered by his death, and she moves from London to Watersford, where he is buried, as a way to stay close to him. Here she falls into a depression, and finds herself drawn to Luca’s twin brother Marc, who also seems unable to cope with his grief.
The two soon begin an affair.. Oliva seems to realise that it is a temporary way to deal with the grief that they are both feeling, but Marc seems unable to accept this. Olivia even starts to rebuild her life, by finding herself a new job, helping a professor with his research into a book.
The story begins to shift back and forth, as we discover Oliva’s life as she grew up, and her connection with both brothers, and thier Italian family. I have to admit that I struggled with the idea of Olivia having an affair with her brother’s twin, but as their past is revealed, it is easier to see how this could happen.
I actually enjoyed these glimpses into the past the most, with the author painting a very believable picture of their growing up.. their families, and their relationships. I felt drawn into all of their lives.
As the book progresses, it slowly draws together the past and the present, as Olivia finds a resolution for her grief. I almost put the book aside soon after I started it, but I’m so glad I didn’t, as I would have missed a well written, touching story.

There does seem to be a lot of arguments around whether we'd be better of with books OR ebooks, whereas I see a place for both. I don't want to give up books in general, but I think the e-reader could be very useful. I'd happily (if I could afford it!) have both side by side.

If you take a look here, it explains that there are limitations on what you can do until you have 10 posts. However, as it's obvious you are a genuine member, I've manually changed your usergroup.. so you should now be able to reply to profile messages etc.

Hiya Everyone, I'm Charlotte, I'm new here. I love reading books. It all started with Enid Blyton when I was about 5, and now I'm a sucker for fiction. I'll look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome to here - I see you're also from Kent.

I haven`t read any Tess Gerritsen books, but I`m on the look-out for them now, from what I`m reading here I`ve been missing out!
There's an earlier thread here that you might find interesting.

Put down a Certain Slant and picked up The Darkest Night
This one? That's not the sort of book I'd expect you to pick up!

Sigh.. anyone interested in this author will either look at thread titles, or search. Wiki has him as a writer for young people, so the best place for him to have a thread is in here - it does not mean that no one will see it.
The forum is getting bigger all the time, so as I said, I am simply trying to keep thing organised etc.
-
It's not just about marketing though, it's about getting visits, links back etc.. if I went to book related forums, and posted only once, to mention my own forum/review blog etc, I'd soon get kicked out.
I still say that we are a book community, and aren't here for people to leave their links, and never post again. I'm sorry if that upset you.
-
Could you please keep to one thread for this author, as it keeps things tidy, and aids searching - many thanks!
-
Please go along and take a look at the Announcements section, as it contains lots of useful information. There is a FAQ, plus a post for new members.. both will explain to you that you are limited until you have 10 posts.. and that includes being able to edit your own posts.
The rules also ask you to use some capital letters, especially for book titles etc etc
Thanks!

As I think I said previously, my personal favourite is The Chrysalids, but that may be because I remember it from school. I did enjoy the second time though.

No hon.. did you not see the wink? It just makes me laugh that you seem to struggle so much to find a book you enjoy.. and I would imagine that's partly down to you being a writer..?
