Chilly and breezy and drizzling but...
I needed a new tire so I went to the rundown tire shop in rundown Plainfield, NJ. I always go there because they're honest. There's a tall fence around the place with razor wire on top and there are stacks of tires 7' high inside the fence. So it's getting colder and windy, but all the guys having their cars worked on were hanging around inside the fence looking at the tires once in awhile. The place has a small, warm waiting room but no one was in it. We're all outside cold and getting wet. Why? Because there were people outside working on our cars and we're men, dammit. And that's how men deal with bad weather when cars are worked on.
What a bunch of idiots we are.

It definitely does factor into it, I much prefer thrillers set in Britain than anywhere else (including Ireland). Maybe because I grew up with shows like The Bill? I find American ones harder to get into, same with Scandinavian ones.
Lately, I've given up American mystery and thriller TV series for those of Britain/Australia/Canada/New Zealand. For a very low price I've subscribed to Acorn TV and am glad I did; many shows and movies from Britain and its former empire as well as Scandinavia.
