  1. It's actually not that bad out. The sidewalks aren't icy anymore so I won't be slipping on my way to class today! There's still some snow in various parts on campus, but for the most part it has all melted.
  2. His lips biting at my sleeve is what wakes me. Reborn by Tara Brown Side note: The main character has a pet wolf...Just thought I'd point that out so the sentence didn't sound kind of weird
  3. Welcome to the forum!
  4. This is so sad...Alan Rickman was an amazing actor and I enjoyed all of his movies. He will definitely be missed. "Always."
  5. I usually read books on my kindle as well, but when others purchase books for me for Christmas they're usually a physical copy. That being said, with the physical copies I got this year, my mom also got me bookmarks that you can color on to go with them! Each bookmark has a different design outlined that you can color in. I've already colored on one and put it in one of my books. I love it!
  6. I missed the read-a-thon for this month, but I'll definitely participate in the future.
  7. I also have not read any books for 2016 so far. I was going to start over my winter break, but I somehow managed to forget my kindle in my dorm room which happens to be almost 2 hours away. However, I was fortunate enough to receive a ton of Barnes and Noble gift cards this Christmas that I was able to surround myself with some amazing titles! I'll probably start reading again tomorrow if I can get over this ridiculous feeling of anxiety I get when I read more than one book at once - it almost feels like guilt. It's weird.
  8. The last book I read in 2015 was Weavers by Kate Avery Ellison. It wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be...I didn't feel connected to the characters as much as I did in the earlier books, so that was disappointing to me.
  9. Thanks, I'm happy to be here!
  10. Sure is, Peacefield. I can't wait for it to come out, especially since the first book is becoming a movie!
  11. I have a lot of books I'm looking forward to in 2016 even though I still have to finish my list from 2015. I'll get caught up eventually! In the meantime, here is a list of some of the books I'm excited to purchase in 2016: The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski The Last Star by Rick Yancey The Crown by Kiera Cass The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead
  12. I agree, Athena. The fifth book was kind of a let down for me, but that's okay. Doesn't diminish my excitement for the 6th one. I think you'll really like the 5th season! I love watching the TV show - I have all the seasons on DVD so far and I watch them all the time. You won't be disappointed! Yeah, I figured it would be awhile for the 6th book to come out. My brother showed me an interview George R.R. Martin participated in and he explained how he can only write in his own house when he feels like it. He doesn't like writing while traveling, which I think makes sense!
  13. I actually love Goodreads! I use it quite often - usually to find recommendations or ratings. I really like setting my reading challenge on there because after the new year, it shows you all your stats from the previous year! I didn't make my reading goal of 50 this year due to school, but I hope to make my reading goal this year!
  14. Rebel Spring by Morgan Rhodes. After I finished it, I was so impatient to purchase the next book since the one I had finished basically ended on a cliffhanger. I was dying to find out what happened!
  15. The Selection was awesome. I read it in one sitting! Have you read the sequel to Gilead? I think it's called Home...It's definitely one of my top to-read books for 2016!
  16. I'm so excited that a number of you all enjoy the same things I do I'm really glad I joined this forum! I wasn't too fond of book 5 or series 5 either. It was a struggle to get through book 5, but my curiosity in regard to the characters pulled me back in. We'll have to talk about the new season when it comes out in April!
  17. I have a lot of authors that I tend to come back to. That being said, Kiera Cass seems to be the only author I have explored so far who has not disappointed me with her writing. I did discover a new author named Marilynne Robinson in one of my classes this semester whose book Gilead blew me away. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a genuine outlook on life and family relationships. You won't be disappointed!
  18. I heard about that. I'm a little sad that the newest book won't be coming out before season 6...I was hoping to read it before the show started! Oh, well. Now we'll all be surprised when plot twists occur in the new season, right? Which GoT book is your favorite so far? I really like A Storm of Swords!
  19. Oh, gosh. I basically like any books I can get my hands on. However, I'm not particularly fond of mysteries. The only mysteries I like to solve are in the game Clue. Thanks for letting me know about the pictures. I was starting to think I had a problem with technology! So have you read Martin's books/watched the Game of Thrones TV show? Hey, chesilbeach Thanks for the welcome! Thank you! I chose Folklore as my minor because as I was making my schedule last year as a freshman for the first time, most of the classes I wanted to take were closed. So to fulfill some of my requirements, I took a Folklore class called Urban Legends instead. It was the best class I took that semester and inspired me to take a Supernatural class the next semester. Once I realized how much I loved the classes, I decided to minor in it! Ohhh, thanks for the clarification! Sorry for the wrong usage I've seen a lot of people use meme! Believe it or not, I really like writing essays. Essays are the highlight of my semester - I love proving abstract ideas to readers. Do you write?
  20. Hey, everyone! If you can't tell from the title of this thread, I love memes. If we become good friends, expect to receive memes in place of words sometimes. I would post a meme right now but I'm not really sure how to! I've never really been on a forum before. I decided to look for one to join because my group on Goodreads became inactive and I wanted to find a group of people who loved to read just as much as I do. Other than memes and reading, my passions include: Star Wars Game of Thrones (The North remembers) Writing Waffles Also, I'm 20 years old and currently live in the USA. Although, I have thought about moving because I dream of traveling. I aspire to be a book publisher, but right now I am just a student. My major is English while my minor is Folklore. I look forward to meeting you all
