  1. Did you watch the TV series? I loved it, and they did release an album of the music. I do have the book but haven't read it yet, I must admit I'm not that keen on the format of using multiple PoVs.
  2. Wild in the country - Bow Wow Wow
  3. We had to do French and one other language O Level, Latin was also an option. Funnily enough I was talking about how hard some languages are yesterday, German especially with the verb having to go to the end of the sentence, and then all the different gender endings for male and female in other languages.
  4. French and German, Italian was also an option but I didn't take it.

    Hello

Hi and welcome, I prefer paper books as well and don't have a Kindle!
  6. Turn the Music Up! - The Players' Association (had to google this one, bit of a one hit wonder I think)
  7. Panic by L J Ross - this carries straight on from the cliffhanger ending of "Mania", so you really need to have read that for this one to make sense. I think this is the better book, "Mania" was a bit OTT and not very original using the now rather tired theme of corrupt police officers, criminal "circles" etc. In this one, Carl Deere, wrongly convicted of murder, has had his conviction overturned and is now a free man, however someone is killing off everyone involved in the original investigation, including police officers, judges etc. The killings continue, and as psychologists Alex Gregory and his friend Bill Douglas also worked on the case, they are also in danger. Meanwhile, the killings continue, but is it Deere out for revenge or is there someone else? it's a fast-paced, easy to read story which ends on another cliffhanger! There's also a brief appearance from LJ Ross's other hero, DCI Ryan, though thankfully at least Gregory hasn't achieved the near sainthood which Ryan has in his series of books. 7/10
  8. Much cooler here today as well, in fact I changed out of my T shirt and put on a long sleeved tee instead, as well as socks! It did get warmer around 2.30 and I sat in the garden for a while, but it was so windy I gave up trying to read my magazine after a while. I did do some watering and feeding tomatoes, sunflowers, etc. I know what you mean about lugging the watering can backwards and forwards, they say weight bearing exercise is good for you though!
  9. Atmospherics (listen to the radio) Tom Robinson
  10. We had quite a bit of rain (not forecast!) on Wednesday afternoon with a bit of thunder in the distance, since then it's been pretty hot and really clammy at night, which is worse. Meant to get a bit cooler but still not much rain, if any, on the way.
  11. I wanna dance with somebody - Whitney Houston
  12. The books are much better, been a long time since I've read them too!
  13. Has anyone been watching The Mayfair Witches series, series 2 nearly finished now on BBC1 in the UK. It's absolutely atrocious, I just about managed to get through the first series, but this one is even worse, a total travesty of the books. I didn't mind Interview with the Vampire once I got used to the changes they made, although the 2nd series was far too talky and introspective, which are features that dragged down some of the later books in the series, but the Witches is virtually unrecognisable from the books. Have given up on the series now.
  14. It ain't over til it's over - Lenny Kravitz
  15. I'll join, so does it mean anything historical, like a historical novel?
