    Hi I'm Clare

Thanks Bobblybear and Signor Finzione! It's nice to meet you. Thanks, Virginia! I originally joined the group because I was updating my CV and I realised the interests section was things like swimming and playing the violin which I didn't do very often. Quilt making sounds great. I learnt the basics of knitting a few years ago and I have asked someone recently to give me a refresher lesson.
  2. I have nothing lined up for the weekend yet but I am busy next week. I have arranged playdates and I am helping my friend in the garden. My friend's son is also having a birthday party later this month and it is my Gran's birthday. We will be Morris Dancing on St George's Day - 23rd April.
  3. I grew up in Rochester in Kent. I now live in GIllingham in Kent which is about four miles away. My parents are still in Rochester.

    Hi I'm Clare

It is good fun, LIttleW. I do enjoy morris dancing. Claire, I was going to send you a PM but I can't work out how to do it. The girls gone by publishing website is: http://www.ggbp.co.uk/index.php The Chalet School forum is: http://the-cbb.co.uk/
  5. I went to see Noah at the cinema last Saturday. I know it has had mixed reviews but I enjoyed it. I thought it was well acted and the story was well told. We bought a copy of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and watched it this week. It was ok - my husband was more of a fan - and the story didn't drag. We have rented the sequel from the library today and will watch it at some point this week.
  6. The Hobbit - my Mum made me read it because she thought I should progress to more adult books. I struggled through it. It did not interest me at all and it bored me to tears. The only thing that kept me going was the easier going book I was going to read when I finished it. (It might have been a Babysitters Club book). One of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries - my Mum was doing the same thing again. This one was not so bad as The Hobbit but I would have preferred to choose what I read unless it's for English Literature at school. I choose my own books these days. I do read and am able to read adult books but ones of my choice.

    Hi I'm Clare

Thanks Janet. I really appreciate your help in finding this forum. I'm definitely enjoying it.
  9. I have recently read The Shop on Blossom Street. I want to read more of the Blossom Street books and I have recently ordered them from the library. One is ready to be picked up and I will pick it up tomorrow. I loved the Cedar Cove series. I was sorry when I read the last of the books and there was no more. There is an extra Christmas one which covers Marj-Jo's story. I read it before I read the Cedar Cove series and it did make me want to read more about these characters. In one of the early books, Debbie Maccomber explains how the books are numbered. It was intentional with the first, but after that, she found it a good way to keep the books in order. The first book has a 1 at the beginning of the number, the second book has a 2 at the beginning of the number, the third book has a 3 at the beginning of the number. The rest of the Cedar Cove series follows this pattern.
