I especially remember when they gathered maple from the trees in the winter and made little candies by putting them in the snow to harden And yes, in 11 years, Luka has never lived that down!

  11. Oh yes! I used to read them as a kid, over and over and over... lol They are one of the books I remember reading all by myself and being my favorite. I've been eyeing the single volume collection that I used to have as a child, my dog as a puppy ATE them and I was saving then for my daughter (when I had one ). Have you read them?
  12. Is that Jojo in your avatar? I love cattle dogs, I love their eyes. I have Luka, a Kerry Blue Terrier. I don't think I would ever have a terrier again! They are crazy! Do you show too, or just agility?

  18. Although it's not a biography of a person, The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan is about the history of Israel and if you know some of the history and geography of the country, it is a good read if interested. The basis is the true story of a Jewish Israeli woman and a Palestinian Arab man who meet over the boarder town house he grew up in and the house she now resides.

  24. Both stray from the books so far! But the movie for Maze Runner was better than the book, I thought.
  25. On Two Feet and Wings- Abbas Kazerooni (244 pages) At the urging of his father, Abbas and his mother have decided to flee Iran during the Iran/ Iraq war. Abbas is about to turn 10, and the Government is already recruiting boys as young as 8.
